Command Prompt opens and closes immediately; Keeps crashing

This issue could be caused due to damaged or missing system files. Apart from that, a third-party program conflict. A corrupted user profile and malware infection can also be the reasons for this issue.
If Command Prompt crashes or closes instantly after opening it on your Windows PC, you can use the following solutions to fix the issue:
1] Restart your computer
2] Scan and remove malware from your PC
3] Perform an SFC scan to repair corrupted system files
4] Configure Environment Variable
5] Create a new user account
6] Uninstall a conflicting program
7] Reset Windows

I had the same problem. What fixed it for me was the following: 1. Search "regedit" in your start menu and open the registry editor. 2. Go to the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Command Processor 3. Delete the entry called "Auto Run". (Or remove the value in the Data column)

For me the issue was the Windows "Terminal" app, uninstalling that resolved it for me

I have a question. In options 5 and 6 you say "Open Command Prompt and see if the issue is resolved". How exactly do I see if it's resolved after opening Command Prompt?

Hi, I guess if the issue had been resolved, you should have to see CMD window, it won't disappear immediately when you open the Command Prompt.

@@WaverestCHNI think he/she meant the issue CMD opens when you are gaming, watching KZfaq or when you aren't doing anything on the computer and then immediately closes The video even has the title Command prompt opens and closes

Hard reset. If it's caused by a virus then it's the only option.
