Seeing Cody in imperial colors is wrong. Still one thing I do like what Disney did here is show that Cody does feel bad about his actions with obi wan. All these years since episode 3 and the end of the clone wars thought that his chip just made him a mindless drone for the most part

Watching Cody try and negotiate peace just like Obi-Wan would have shows how much time Cody spent with Obi-Wan.

Cody was definitely seeing if he could converse with crosshair, maybe believing he would be more like 99 and think independently. When crosshair labelled "questioning clones" as traitors, he dismissed the conversation. Clearly Cody, questions it. Evident by his scenes. You can definitely tell he believes he killed Kenobi

Seeing Cody stripped of his iconic orange, while still keeping the same pattern is so messed up canonically. It’s like a cruel parody of his old armor

I was so happy when seeing Commander Cody again as I think we all wanted to know what happened to him after Order 66. It was nice and a little sad to see him in the armour as the colours were gone and the colour truly represented the clone and whenever he had moments to himself, I think we all know he was thinking of following the order to kill Obi-Wan and you can tell he regrets that as he served alongside Kenobi during the war and you could see the friendship, comradery loyalty they had, just like Rex had with Anakin, and I feel Cody was sort of the voice of reason for Crosshair, reminding him of what the clones stood for and what they do and I hope Crosshair takes that onboard and I hope we see a change the next time we see him. And I hope we see Cody again in the coming episodes, would be cool if he reunited with Rex at some point.

At 0:59 you can see the sadness in Cody’s face and eyes, His thoughts are probably more along the lines of, “No Crosshair. Not the Jedi. The Jedi didn’t betray the Republic…the Republic betrayed the Jedi.” Makes me wonder if other clones whisper amongst each other or try to have the chip surgically removed secretly…except maybe those Spaarti Clones.

You can tell Cody’s chip malfunctioned somewhere because he has doubts but you can also see how the chip changed him. His voice is less chipper, he cadence is more soldier based then before, (I know he was more “by the book” than Rex but he would still go with things against the rules when necessary) and he seems more walled off. I feel like it was to soften the the impact of Cody fans like myself but I also feel like it’s not the best move. It’s better than legends Cody for sure so I’m happy about that but this Cody is not the same Cody and it hurts. His regret over 66 is there but the chip has implanted that “good soldiers follow orders” line. He’s less Cody and more Stormtrooper with some extra personality to him. It’s sad and I wish he had escaped it but not every dream can be a reality. 212 Battalion forever!!! FOR THE REPUBLIC!! FOR OUR BROTHERS!!!

I hope he does get another appearance and he wasn't killed off-screen as people seem to suggest.

I have a theory, when order 66 was first given most clones immediately executed it. That’s when the chip was in its prime. I think, with more time passing the inhibitor chip gets weaker and weaker overtime and has less control over the clones that’s why we see Cody start question things even with his chip still in

Cody and Crosshairs working together is actually a cool concept

Watching the clones lose all color on their armors and slowly melding into the monochrome of the Empire is saddening, but that’s the point.

I love how at the start of the episode, Cody still feels a bit by the book as he was first described. But I also think he said the good soldiers follow orders when Crosshair said clones to leave are also traitors like the Jedi, which is why Cody then reassures Crosshair that he "agrees". But by the end of the episode - despite fighting a war against them, he realises the fears of these separatist hold outs and that the empire is not the republic he fought for. His final words with Crosshair remind me of Rex's stance clearly inspired a lot by Fives) on Umbara. Also how he keeps staring at the wall of names at the start and finish, the casualties and losses Fives and Rex were concerned about are clearly affecting Cody now. The "what makes us different" point is very Rex in spirit and him giving Crosshair a hint as to why he finally leaves the empire.

Cody being seen as the bad guy to those civilians was a great touch.

After watching this a few months ago, I just realize why Cody didn't shoot but negotiate for release of the hostage. He still remember how to negotiate, just like his fame Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi.

i love/hate the symbolism of cody's armour change. the 212th was painted a golden colour to look like a sun, especially with the three bursting patterns on cody's chest plate. when obi-wan "died", cody's sun did too.

I've seen some movie's and we can see some realism in this to the way Cody says that we make our own decisions, our own choices and we have to live them to. the last one's the hardest thing ever.

I think Cody's, and also Mayday's, main purpose was meant to be showing Crosshair how little the Empire cares about Clones, and how Clones have been manipulated by Order 66. I believe they are meant to sow seeds of doubt in Crosshair about his loyalty to the Empire.

What I noticed and really liked are Cody's and Crosshairs standing positions in the first and last scene. While talking, Codys body is often turned towards the memorial wall, especially his face is illuminated. Crosshair doesn't look at the wall once and turns his back at it. Even if both Cody and Crosshair are working for the same institution, they have completely different impulsions. Cody is mourning his past life and the loss of his brothers, now he tries to make their deaths and their efforts mean something and keeps believing that what he does for the Empire is the same as he did for the Republic: Fighting for peace in the universe. Crosshair seams to have zero emotional connection to his job or any values that he believes in. The back turning at the memorial shows both the indifference towards the deaths of the other clones and a lack of loyalty, empathy and a sense of unity. Crosshairs attitude is matching perfectly with the values and the character of the Empire as they don't care about clones or any other being in general. Cody on the other hand seems to be completely out of place.

Im just glad he didn't suffer thr fate he did in Legends, forced to be an instructor for Stormtroopers and assigned to guard Vader's vault on Kamino where he was likely killed when Starkiller escaped.

When crosshair talked to Cody about the clones question about the order when crosshair said then there traders like the jedi it shows feared about what will and is happening to his brothers and the Republica and regrets killing jedis and witness a unarmed separatist governor gunned down front of him after promising her safety of her and her people and now questioning on what they are doing wondering if they are doing the right thing by making the galaxy a safer place and telling crosshair we have our own choices and we have to live with it I believe when the admiral told crosshair that commander cody went awhole I think cody finally realized what they were doing and how bad the galaxy they were fighting for 9+ year *since star wars the clone wars movie 2008* even though in the show it was like 4+ years him and rex lost so much of there brothers after battle and after battle and allegedly killing obi wan and have to live with it I think cody said enough was enough and he probably either help his brother in the galactic Civil War or he went to be a farmer or mechanic or something something that doesn't involved with the empire

Ik that this has nothing to do with Cody but I want to give my thoughts on why a lot of the new tk stormtroopers hate the imperial clone troopers . More then likely palpatine knew that the clones could overthrow him so he started the tk stormtrooper program and made it look like it was tarkin’s idea , then he used propaganda to recruit normal people and he also more then likely usesd offensive language when discussing the clones so that people would hate them . This is where Nolan comes into the picture . Nolan to me represents a person who is from a rich family and has never actually done any sort of fighting . But palpatine is right the clones are superior then the normal human’s because they are the children of jango fett and they are the brother of bobba fett , two of the most strongest bounty hunters in the Star Wars timeline . But another reason that palpatine has a majority of the clones replaced is because they didn’t have enough of jango fetts dna 🧬 to keep making more and bobba wouldn’t give them his dna so yeah , but even crosshairs squad hate him for no reason simply because he’s a clone . Crosshair does eventually kills his squad except for one that mange to escape and he also kills Nolan . I’m not saying all the regular humans hate the clones because in some of the Star Wars books , their are a quite a few that respects the clones and honor them for the sacrifices during the clone wars .

Love Filoni. Before Bad batch many others, including me, ended up hating Cody because after the war, he trained human recruits for the empire. But Filoni completely changed his arc and made him defect from the Empire, just like many of the other clones. Filoni really made him likable again.
