This... this is what a movie about MTG would look like if they wrote a script for one. The bruiser, just playing threats... the schemer, behind the scenes waiting to go off... the villain, ruining everbody's fun... And the plucky hero... Blake 'ketchum' Bandrowski... when every friend has fallen to the Antagonists carefully constructed trap... the hopeful star's light is all but diminished. With no lands, no graveyard, no hope... our hero looks shattered, broken, on the verge of failure... as their turn to scramble a way just to fight on.. the topdeck begins. The wheels begin to turn... the villain begins to squirm... and the play, oh the play worthy of any world championship final... the defeated companions are right there, cheering him on... And the 5 vllain cries... struggling to 4 overcome this catastrophic 3 setback... desperately searching 2 for a way, not to win.. but to 1 just stay ali....*BOOM*

ngl when cgb played that retreat to hagra i thought that he must have a plan to not kill himself with it as he played things that also allowed blake to play even more lands to make use of it and then left him alive along with windgrace able to minus. To be fair tho, taking three players turns in a row isnt exactly easy to manage lol.

CGB could have won by brainfeezing himself to fill his graveyard for Underworld breach, then escape brainfreeze and or mindslaver to mill everyone and take all the remaining turns

The benevolent blessing says "This effect doesn't remove auras and equipment you control already attached to this creature". So it wouldn't have removed the previous ones, but it would have meant it can't have new ones attached to it. E.g. the "Spirit Mantle" Shea fetched using Lightpaws ability. (Cause it can't be enchanted by the chosen color due to protection)

@@Dekadin2 That's wrong. Protection doesn't ONLY prevent targeting, so much as it prevents something from being enchanted as well. (702.16c) Which means that when it gains protection from white all white enchantments will fall off of it. Due to the effect of Benevolent Blessing current enchantments won't be removed, but it can neither be targeted nor can it be the target of "attachment" effects. (There even is a specific explanation of this 702.16p) This even goes so far as that you CAN'T FETCH white auras due to this. Since the (White) Aura cannot become attached to the Light-Paws with Protection from White, it simply does not change zones. It does not leave the Library. It does not enter the Battlefield. It does not go to the Graveyard. 303.4i If an effect attempts to put an Aura onto the battlefield attached to an object or player it can’t legally enchant, THE AURA REMAINS IN IT'S CURRENT ZONE, unless that zone is the stack. In that case, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard instead of entering the battlefield. If the Aura is a token, it isn’t created.

Just saying, I live in southern Michigan. That "I have the keys" comment by Gina hits a lot harder than people expect, given CGB is also in Michigan -- up in Traverse City. Then, her spiteful "Dice Drop" was comedic gold. I was like, "Oh, _dayum,_ she mad..." Then, for Blake to actually pull it out in the end? That was, to use a Magic card name, pure _comeuppance_ for CGB. He got everything coming to him this game. 😅

Blake really went Plus Ultra on CGB :D Am I wrong or should Shae not have been able to attach Spirit Mantle to Lightpaws at 36:47? While the benevolent blessing doesn't remove Auras of the chosen color I do not think you can attach any after it has Pro White. Not that it mattered much :)

Protection stops it from being targeted, Light Paws puts the enchantment into play already attached to it. Therefore, it is not being targeted and gets around protection.

How does Kodama and a bounce land win? Kodama says “if it wasn’t put into play with this ability” so how does it go infinite? (Maybe I missed something so I’m not sure)

You stack the triggers so the bounce land bounces itself before Kodama’s ability resolves. Then you choose the bounce land to put into play. Once a permanent leaves the battlefield, the game treats it as a new object if it re-enters, with no memory of anything that happened to it before it entered

Showing off and missing the win doesn’t allow you to retroactively replay. He did the plays that he did and he lost to landfall. His arrogance definitely made for better content than a combo kill though 😂

It depends; if they had them due to a "gain control" effect then it goes back to whoever would have it otherwise. If the player who lost put it on the bf (due to something like rise of the dark realms) then it's exiled

On turn 4 (around the 11-12-minute mark) Gina casts three spells that each require white mana… despite having access to only two white. And everyone jokes about how the mana worked out…
