Thanks for another installment Jon much appreciated. Next week I'm getting my license and I've been prepping for the past two months getting my ducks in a row. After watching you and my friends of the past, I don't feel nervous at all. Can't wait. Keep up the good work my friend.

As much of a competitive player that I am, the market has shifted in Magic to Casual and Commander is that format. Modern is our #2 format and some Thursdays we don't get the event to fire. Friday nights are our busiest night of the week (although Pokémon on Sunday afternoon is starting to rival the turnout) and it is Commander pods from 7 PM on (usually the guys are leaving at like 1 or 2 AM Saturday morning).

I agree that commander is probably the most useful and important format for an LGS, just sucks that it's such a god awful format to play.

Great series, but something that has always bothered me about LGS owners and start ups. I would like to open a hobby store, not just an LGS. I'm talking CCG, TCG, gunpla, board games, etc etc and this is what bothers me about LGS and hobby store owners. No one ever spills the beans about distribution! EVER! How does a person with no magic inventory, get magic inventory? Like the cases of booster boxes. Everytime I ask owners at LGS they ignore the quest or beat around the bush. I know every LGS is competing, I'm active military, so I've been all over the east coast to different LGS and hobby stores and everytime they keep the distribution hidden. Why? Distribution from wizards to clear it up.

Just call up the distributor in your region, it's not that complicated. If these store owners can do it, you can do it!

Lol the best way to play a licensed game is to remove the company that created the game. Custom banlists, agreed upon rules. It looks like they are all having fun!

As a non-commander competetive only kind of guy, I completely disagree, and think your statement is indicative of your average blinkered grinder who doesn't get anything but their corner of the game. Stay in your corner kid.
