I knew it, the radio decoy is so OP in this game. I literally plowed through all enemies with only Green Beret :D

all are -.- All can be sickly abused. The diver: harpoon, dive. One comes looking, harpoon dive. I cleared entire maps with that harpoon. Bff.

OP? Ah, finally. Let's say OP here means making things way too easy, shall we? The Green Beret, as you already stated, is OP with his radio decoy. He is so OP the mission would be somewhat hard without him around. The Sniper would also be OP should it has infinite ammo. But thankfully, he doesn't. The Diver is not really OP due to his speed, but if he is, it's because his harpoon's range. As the Sniper would be OP with infinite ammo, so would the Sapper with his grenades. The Driver in this game (and Commandos BEL) is already OP should he ever got his hand with the enemy's tank, panzer, or whatever vehicle that can destroy. But with riffle? Damn. The Spy? I'd say the Spy is the only thing that kinda balances the game. But then again, he could practically do almost everything that the Green Beret could do, except lifting and pushing weights, running fast, and climbing walls.

"It is a pleasure to see your unit back to full strength, officer." *only gives you half of your unit for the mission* Excellent use of the Marine. I actually didn't use him for anything here (save for distracting a single enemy), instead going the long way of advancing clockwise and slowly dismantling the opposition with Green Beret. When everyone else (save for those pesky patrols and soldiers on south-eastern island... I never grabbed the scuba gear either) was dead, my final action before sailing off was to shank the old general. Unlucky guy. Loved this playthrough for sheer creativity and precision.

I noticed 2 years after you said it xD But i suppose it's logical, humans tend to get less aware of their surroundings as they focus on something, especially distracting.It's what magicians abuse for a living. Looky over here! *pops 'magic' over there*

Back in the day I spent hours trying to find a way to get on to the island without raising alarm. Ends up doing lot of creative stuff which is what I like about games from this era.

So I've watched all 8 (and I've played the game over and over again in earlier years) and I think I can add another trick to your arsenal. Crawl/tiger a unit in the enemy's long range line of sight. Stand up, making them spot you. Crouch/lie down again, but don't make any other move. The soldier will come running and hold you at gun point, but will not act. Other soldiers VIEWING him holding you at gunpoint will come to his aid and search you out, but they will also just aim their rifles at you once they spot you and stay that way. They only thing that can make them act (shoot you) is if a higher ranking officer (can be a stationary gun nest, a patrol etc) sees them and come running, at which point they will open fire or arrest you. Key is to make sure that does not happen by either doing this where there are no patrols or where they cannot see this play out. As soon as all soldiers within line of sight are there, you will have a group of soldiers holding your man at gunpoint in sort-of a semi-circle. Come round with the marine, spy or green beret that you stashed away earlier and knife them all in sequence so the others don't see them die. If you play it right you can clear whole swaths of some maps in mere minutes. This does NOT work with soldiers who are programmed to be stationary (guarding an object for instance). They will sound the alarm once you crouch down which brings (more) patrols. It also does not work with patrols (they will arrest or shoot you). Other stationaries such as gun nests, guard towers but also vehicles will just open fire straightaway. Another trick I've often used but which is slow and only works if the alarm already has gone off once (or you destroyed the flagged buildings) is to placed bear traps in the path of a patrol. One will die, they will look around stupidly, and continue walking. Rinse and repeat to kill off the entire patrol.

I like to use a similar trick. The sapper places the trap and stand up, when an enemy sees him let him crawl then hide somewhere, the enemy would run to the trap. This works for green beret and marine too, they hide somewhere and when the enemy runs here they kill them. I remember killing patrol with trap doesn’t work. If you kill one patrol, another will come out from barracks.

harpooned everything to bits. The groups by going in a building, step out and shoot 'em one by one as they are amazed they fall like flies. The top part never got to sound the alarm -.-

You are a god. But, theres more to achieve, officer! I saw all your videos and played the game again, but, im not as skilled as you are. Tell me: commandos 2 and 3? When? Also i recommend you to check "shadow tactics: blades of shogun" I really wanna see you playing. By the way, when i play commandos, i barely use more than a character at time, but, you.. looks like a real team work, amazing. Congratulations.

Both this mission and Liege mission number 18 from BEL are somewhat hilarious. Considering that during Operation Wacht am Rhein the Germans never reached Nijmegen, let alone Liege.

Strike In Narrow Path is on my to-do list for sure, but it's going to be a while before I can focus on playing those missions. I have to spend most of my spare time on other things for the moment.

I think the commandos 1 was better than 2 and 3, because in commandos 2 all of the comandos have more habilities (less "special" habilities). You can take objects and give to another, you cant shoot other weapons with all...

I killed most of the gaurds and gestapo but the issue is I captured general as well now no matter what I do, I would not get the documents even though entire unit waiting at boat

I believe you can only get the documents by having Natasha meet with the general inside the night club. In other words, capturing the general does not work, as far as I remember.

Yes, this was the last mission in Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty. They also released Commandos 2 and 3 after this game, but I have actually never played those.

And so ends the first saga of the Commandos' adventures... and also, the series' (not the story's) introduction of the wily Seductress. Well, time to find some other channel that actually does justice to Commandos 2: Men of Courage the same way Spek does here. Any recommendations? Edit: This mission being set in Nijmegen sure is payback for bloody Market Garden. 19:15: A damn shame that the Cold War soon follows... I wonder if the Commandos did missions against the Soviets soon after?

Unfortunately this add-on is not great as Behind Enemy Lines. It's unfair, frustrating, very hard and bizarre. For example, i lie on the ground and the patrol doesn't see me but when i have a body at the same spot, the patrol sees the body. Mediocre game.
