One of the best things about living in Oregon is the winters, when fresh Dungeness crabs are around $7.00 per pound! *I eat a BUNCH every year. **_THANKS FOR WHAT YOU GUYS DO!_*

More like 100' to 225. Dungeness like eel grass. Then shrimp 225 - 400' ft. Spot shrimp is the stuff. Holy crap batman ! Break tail off , butterfly raw best stuff ever. Thats what shrimp should taste like. Like crab when they die they release bile into their blood to decompose (its ammonia) the funky fishy taste. Fresh is best.

I'm wondering about the practice of dragging the haled line back in the water as you're retrieving the pot. Aren't you risking getting the line stuck in the propeller?

yeah! I think they have "sinkrope" on it (directly translated from swedish) so it lower itself under the prop :) Atleast that is how it works when i fish lobster :)
