During this commercial HVAC service call, I found a dead condenser fan motor, noisy refrigerant pipe and a stuck open/hunting thermal expansion valve. I used the gen 2 Testo Smart Probes and Smart Probes app to diagnose the problem.

I really enjoy your vids. I need to learn more about those two terms u used. Subcool and superheat. Like the idea of an adjustable Tx and really like your Bluetooth gauges. I saw that device in one of your other vids. I do mostly automotive AC. Thanx again!!

I was on a York the other day. Found a big leak on the discharge line U bend. It had been pushed and rubbed up against the metal on the end of the condenser coil.

hearing the refrigerant building and releasing in the refrierant piping , is that somthing remembered from past experience..... like hey I remember that sound . That TXV might be over feeding ( sense of hearing to troubleshoot)

Hello, how are you... Spoke with you in reference to the testo 770-3 meter and it's a pretty good meter... I use it in residential electrical HVAC furnace appliance repair and automotive modes and it's a pretty good meter.. like the set of the watts and PF on one display... The only negative is no light, but it's not a dealbreaker.. This is one of my main goal to meters us now... Thanks..

I have three very old tx valves I'm trying to bench test, because I can't get a replacement. They don't seem to do anything. Should I be able to detect the opening/closing somehow? Does the tx valve ever completely close?

What if your problem is low to no super heat. And high subcooling. 33-35 evap sat and 69 degree cond sat low ambient around 56-59 degrees. Return air 70 supply 40ish Evap clean and condensor clean and good airflow on both... Could this be stratification? Or something else.

Just curious, during the winter wouldn't you be using economizer for free-cooling rather than mechanical cooling? Thanks

So, question, the compressor sweating, wouldn’t that be a normal thing? The suction line sweats, because of the condensation. So, wouldn’t that be the same for the compressor she’ll?
@HVACKnowItAll
@HVACKnowItAll 4 жыл бұрын
Some sweating at the suction line entrance yes, but not the entire compressor.
