I purchased the new PRC-152 TCA version radio , it is a better radio with better screen features more true to the original, however there is one flaw in that you cannot choose PL tx/rx individually, PL is either off or both tx/rx on, some repeaters don't tx a PL, the old version it was an option, you can fix this by buying the program cable and programming it on the computer, I think this is a firmware flaw that it's not available on the FPP mode. Thanks for posting.

It seems like all of these replica radios have one downfall or another in the firmware. Very frustrating! They have potential to be GREAT radios.

Think that FCS 152 radio or TCA 152 is better than TRI. And yes you can change PL tones individually per RX and TX.

All the next generations replicas are much better. I have since moved on to genuine Harris equipment. It is the best.

@@CallMeColtLLC Speaking as Ham enthusiast, reason why you prefor FCS and TCA is 5W in comparison to 15W TRI. More power doesnt mean more range - if a antenna is rated for 5Ws.

@@abccde3832 I'm not sure what you mean? I don't prefer one replica of the other. They all have flaws. 5-8watts is generally all that's needed for handhelds. As I said, I've moved on the genuine Harris equipment so I don't use the replica stuff anymore.

@@CallMeColtLLC Sorry I was typing from tablet which sucks :D This is abcde3832. TRI brand offers 15W output which majority of people think is better then 5W. But there is reason why Harris, Hyteras, Motorolas and other handheld good brands stick with 5W. So when your average guy will transmit from 15W radio, he will most likely use antenna rated for 5W. So his part of that electricity will bounce back due to high SWR (Standingn wave ratio) and potentially damage transmitter. The challenge with Harris radio is their price and availability.

@@tbhbrievodarchive5857 oh okay, yes! Genuine Harris does up to 10 watts. So if you put a real antenna on, up to medium power should be okay. The 15 watt setting would be better on some sort of vehicle mount like I intended to do with this. If using as a true handheld, 5-8watts is more than enough. At the time I purchased, TRI was the only one offering a KDU.
