Just imagine that turtle watching the fight going down with the north and south fighting in the Civil War waiting for one of those Yankees to fall in the water!

That ate good in those days lol they can test lions teeth to see if they ate human flesh in their life time. I wonder if they could do that with turtle shells. It’d be interesting to gather samples from large turtles that were alive during that period and see if they ever consumed humans.

They get bigger than that. Old barn I used to pass by every day had three nailed to the side of the barn. They were over 3 feet across.

I saved one in my pond that got stuck in my backyard that had a wall he or she couldn't get back up on. I wish I could show a picture on how massive it was.

That is wild! I never seen anything close to that size up here in Ohio. Maybe the size of the 1st one he pulled out but even that big is fairly rare here.

We have some alligator snappers close to that size in our creek in south Mississippi but they don’t bother us if we don’t bother them so we let those old dinosaurs live.

I saved one once this is the truth I put it in the Mississippi River I was walking and it's was just in a very small puddle of water by a culvert it would have taken it for ever to get to the water 💦 plus it was near a cottonmouth.

Please don’t hold common snapping turtles by the tail. It can injure their spine just like holding a cat or dog by its tail.

@headienutburn29 күн бұрын
You can severely damage its spine by grabbing it by the tail like that. Shame on you. You can grab a common snapper by the sides if you aren't afraid of your arms getting torn up by its claws or you can hold them by the shell just above its head like an alligator snapper. You should know this.
