Having coached technical managers in technology and engineering companies for a decade, I've noticed several consistent leadership skills gaps that can limit their team's performance. Yet, there are also two main personality types/leadership styles that tend to show up in these industries. If the leader is unaware of how their personality/style impacts others, the leadership gaps can be magnified, impacting their promotion potential.
