pointless meetings which are of a result only to make the work harder than it needs to be or is no I'm not gonna waste my your and my coworkers time in a meeting to find new or old ways to make the company less productive and more injured by the time constraints you want everyone to live up to because if you ever worked a day in your life ya must've forgot what other reasons there are for having cushion time in a day because I'm not stopping working I'm getting ready for the next project and yeah 1 hrs before quitting time os not the time to expect 3more hrs of work done but somehow leaving on time and now that you've wasted 15 mins of my time it'll take me 45 minutes just to get stuff put away for taking back out tomorrow to continue this nonsense and that leaves another 30 mins of just getting out of there so don't complain to me about overtime because your the one causing it, uninterrupted i would've had that hr to get as far as i could put away and clocking out on time but you wanna hold meetings after I've clocked out? don't even suggest or ill be clocked back in to charge double and then clocking back out to leave

my wife who I work with doesn't understand why I get written up so often. I just showed her this and told her "Ricky is like my work place spirit animal" she just kinda went, "oh.. that actually explains a lot" keep speaking the truth Ricky, you're the inner voice of the working man.
@gbooblue

Hats off to your wife. If you’re the type that keeps getting written up, I can’t imagine how many times she’s asked how do you put up with that at home? It’s exhausting trying to explain a grown man’s actions and why he can’t control them so much he’s got the number one spot in HR. Lack of a filter and tact tends to bleed into every aspect of your life..until she gets tired of making excuses for your behavior. If that’s not your situation, I’m happy it’s not, for both of you. I tried explaining that for decades. He didn’t comprehend that until after I could no longer listen to how everyone is a dumbass Every Single Day. It’s draining. Decades complaining about how people are so stupid, not one day learning how to deal with that truth effectively. And I didn’t even work with him…

If you are being spoken politely to, it means you’re being fired and they don’t want to say anything that you could take to a lawyer. OR everyone has decided you’re just a nonentity and not worth wasting time on. There’s a couple of levels to cussing/insults. Both sound a bit hurtful, but if there is extra viciousness and anger, then they are mad at you. If not, then although they are cussing you, they are doing so in a friendly way.

I am dying... oh that ending was a side splitter. I hurt *LOL* You can't sit in a cushy ac office all day and then try to dictate to skilled labor that works out in the heat and the freezing temps on how they ought to do anything but their job. It just ain't gonna work. Hubby had a Roscoe at a job. Man was older than dirt. He cussed out some whippersnapper for doing everything wrong on a fabrication piece. The idiot had to tack weld something and burned holes through the entire piece, so it had to be done from scratch. The higher ups came in and got onto him for cussing the kid and stated any damages done that cost money would be docked from his pay for not supervising them properly. Our Roscoe went off on the higher up, cussed out the kid and 2 others who were screw ups, and the welding program the job was sponsoring for even letting them pass. He threatened he'd beat the cost out of each of them and he'd sue if fired and he'd win because he knew 3 local judges and each one was a son of a welder he personally trained. Boss left and so did all 3 kids. Oddly enough, the job was done ahead of schedule once the dead weight left.

I thought going white collar would keep me safe from safety mans bullshit, but now the problem is I actually need to listen to that mother fucker when he says "telling someone their photo's are shit, they take too much damn time, and they need to get off their lazy ass and click a fucking button" isn't an appropriate way to tell them "hey man, your photography skills could use a lot more work, work on the exposure and maybe tell the subject to stand closer. The only bennifit is, I got to go to a construction site the other day because we had a NASTY twister rip through the area, it was 98 degrees, and this secondary photographer is playing with buttons instead of getting into the AC. I lost my cool and was like "PRESS THE FUCKING BUTTON JACKASS!" the kid started crying (literally) and said he was going to HR. Homie from the construction crew said "look here crybaby, I don't know you too well so I'ma be nice, but the fact your boss said that Instead of "it's fine let me do it" is a good thing, wipe that nose and get yo ass in gear before they change their mind" When we got back to the office and they asked why I was so mean to them. I said "two things, those people were paying by the hour and we charge 600 bucks an hour, Second of all if I wasn't meant to you, you might want to start job searching. If I yell at you and call you a dumbass, it's because I think you can actually grow and improve, If i stop caring about your work, it means I'm hunting down your replacement"

2:07 I had a manager at a lumber yard that was EXACTLY like this. I come in one day "Joe, I need you to bring down a pallet of roof tar, we've been out since we've been open" and I shit you not "Joe, I need you to go pick up the paper in aisle (whatever it was), I keep walking by it and it's still there".

While I don't work in construction (many members of my family have, I grew up on this kinda talk and you're hilarious), I do work in a kitchen. It's hot as hell behind the line, you're always getting burned by fire or grease, and communication is -key- to good dinner service. We don't use flowery language, even if it's a nice place. We say what we need to, to get our point across. Hot! (The item is hot. You'd be surprised how many new folks just stare at you when you say that.) Sharp walkin' (We are carrying a sharp item. Move or get cut.) Behind! (Moving behind you,, so don't fucking step back.) 86 it. (Take it off the menu, or throw it out. We don't have it and I don't care who you promised it to. It's gone.) The simplest things can get any point across, folks just don't listen is all. And yeah, most folks in the kitchen curse like crazy. It doesn't mean anything, it's just how we talk. My old man always said construction was the same. Certain jobs have their own language. If you can't learn it, leave. Left my last kitchen due to a new fancy manager telling us all if you cursed you'd be fired because people who curse didn't deserve to have jobs. You'd be surprised how fast folks cleared out. XD

oh,lordy. can I relate ,heavily to a total failure to communicate in any way,shape,or form with jobs. or,worse yet,one direct superior says one thing,the other direct superior tells you to do the exact opposite,and do it as half assed as possible. I legit had a boss tell my team to screw up . we cannot afford to do this correctly. his exact words. I'm all kinds of confused. like,hold up. we cannot at all afford to do this job correctly,but,we somehow have all the money in the world to correct the issues? da fawk?

The company I work for took our complaint of lack of communication to heart, and tried to shoe-horn a pass down system between machine operators. It really highlighted the fact there is a severe disconnect between the office and the floor, because we were complaining about management relying on a game of telephone to inform everyone of operational changes. We had no issues passing shift specific info between day and night shift.
