On "encodes?" Think back to the implication that "encodes" means that you consciously sent the message. It's at around 3:16 in this video. +Royal Blue: Yep, you're right again. And nonverbal response (or even non-response) is feedback. If you don't respond to something, someone will interpret your nonresponse as feedback (like when you don't respond to email messages; a nonresponse could be interpreted in a number of ways: you didn't get the message, you didn't think it was important enough to respond, the email message didn't go through, the email address was wrong, etc.).
