He didn't, Jeff isn't the best guy in the world but he acknowledges his mistakes and faces them like a man. I feel like everyone likes to gang up on him and blame him for everything including their own mistakes, like Britta/Annie/Abed in this episode. Britta admitted to only saying I Love You to him for a competition with Slater and then deliberately made Jeff look like the bad guy after he only asked her to help him get less hate, shit like this is why I'm looking forward to her character being a joke in the coming seasons. Annie knew Jeff would look like a monster if people found out they kissed and the only thing he asked her for was to forget about it since they agreed it was a mistake, but she couldn't keep her mouth shut and Jeff looked like a pervert/pedophile even tho she kissed him (he didn't force her). Abed was too focused on his tv obsession that he didn't even care about the fact that he was making Jeff's life worse instead of helping him like a real friend would. Troy and Shirley weren't too nice either, Troy was too dumb to appreciate Annie's love for him and is jealous since Jeff has more game while Shirley's case is simpler, we all knew she would take the girls side in everything. Jeff suffered the entire episode while the others had no consequences for their actions and at the end Jeff had to apologize to everyone as always. I know its just a show for comedic purposes but this is the first episode I can honestly say I completely disliked, which is hard for me cause I was looking forward to the GAYYY Chang meme scene but even with that I just couldn't enjoy it. That's just my opinion tho, you don't have to agree with me but I wanted to get it off my chest since I'm not reacting to it with a group of friends like The Normies.

Everyone agrees everyone was wrong by the end of the episode.
