Hickey was orignally supposed to be played by Ray Liotta, but he backed out and they went with the great Johnathan Banks. Banks crushes this role, but would love to see the alternate version of Community with Liotta in the role

I love every episode where Professor Sean Garrity appears, he’s great. I’m pretty sure it was in one of the commentaries, I think it was his last appearance in Season 2, Dan Harmon said he wanted Kevin Corrigan to play this part so badly that Dan actually paid to fly him out. Glad he could return for the Nick Cage episode 😂. Always Be Cageing. My new life motto.

Aside from pretty Abed’s entire breakdown, there’s three parts of the Nic Cage class scene I really love. 1) Britta’s contribution being immediately cut off by Prof. Garritty, just the quickest and funniest attempt to shut her down in the show. 2) His immediate reaction to Abed entering in a disheveled state, with a clear indication that he’s familiar with the signs of a Nic Cage overload. 3) Britta having an oddly interested reaction to Abed’s “I’m a sexy cat” routine.

One of the all time best episodes of Community! We get introduced to Buzz Hickey, perfectly played by Jonathan Banks (a character as great and sometimes even better than Pierce). We see Jeff evolve into a surprisingly good teacher. And we see Danny Pudi give one of the greatest performances in tv history as he channels the soul of Nicolas Cage! Seriously he should’ve gotten an Emmy for that scene alone.

If you look at the video's chapter titles, I love how every other one is about Nick Cage. Talk about Nick Cage, talk about another episode topic, back to Nick Cage!

One of the greatest episodes of TV ever and I will not be convinced otherwise. Jonathan Banks as the new Pierce. Sean Garrity returns. A conspiracy among all educators to fake the grade A-. The Dean absolutely failing to learn Excel resulting in a week straight of meatball lunches and a bafflingly random outro song in French. Always. Be. Caging. And a legendary end tag. TV at it's absolute finest.

I started this show after watching Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul so seeing Jonathan Banks here was an awesome surprise! To me, it feels like he took all that energy from Mike to give us a hilarious character with Buzz Hickey and I was all in after his first scene!

There have been more than just Gus and Mike. Badger was in a couple episodes in the first season. Spoog was in an episode in season 3. I believe there was at least one other actor who was in both.

I knew they were be excited to see Jonathan Banks 😂

This is up there as one of the best Ep.s of the series. Next weeks a favourite too! Solid run here.
