Lapari was Silverballz. Dan Harmon was sad how obvious his voice was in the beginning. At the end his gun was out of bullets that's why he had yellow bullets afterward. Coogler is is the sole creator and showrunner of Arrested Development. The Dan Harmon of Arrested Development basically.

that lift scene was actually an homage to the winter soldier lift fight scene. That guy the dean shot, he was the same extra used by the Russos in the same scene with chris evans.

Love binge re-watching all of these hearing all the wishes of a movie and all of the "it will never happens" knowing just recently in 2022 they've confirmed Dan Harmon is working on the "andAMovie" with MOST of the OG cast already confirmed on-board! SO EXCITED! After quarantine I think all of us could use a taste of returning to being "Human Beings."

Don’t forget Dean Pelton was also in Captain America as well (albeit interacting with Tony Stark instead of Cap himsel), funny enough seemingly playing the Dean of MIT during Civil War. And speaking of Dinesh, we also have Gilfoyle(Professor Cligoris/Roger Harrington) in the MCU three different movies playing the same character as well👌

Leperi was Silverballs. He just ran out of his stash after Koogler was “killed” and left the game. He uses his last two bullets on Annie and Abed.

They never outright show it though outside of that obviously being Kumail Nanjiani’s voice in the intro, also one issue is the position he runs into frame from after Annie and Abed are hit doesn’t match up with where the silver Paintballs were fired from

That elevator scene is in a million movies. It's a reference to the trope, not necessarily a specific movie :p But I've been hooked on all the Community vids and have watched from the beginning over the last month or so. Watching someone else watch Community is almost like being able to watch it for the 1st time again, and it's been great!! Glad you guys got into it and did the whole series.

It's most definitely referencing Winter Soldier. The way each person greets the dean on their way in, the palpable tension, the camera work, that was an espionage movie and this was an espionage episode. This episode came out only a year after Winter Soldier and that was a pretty iconic scene in that movie. Not to mention the Russo bros connection; they cut their teeth on Community and were tapped to direct Winter Soldier because of their work on the season 2 paintball episodes. The Russo bros are pretty open about crediting Community for giving them the experience needed to be able to do MCU ensembles and they went on to do some of the most acclaimed MCU movies (Civil War, Infinity War, Endgame). And they regularly work in cameos from Community cast members. So far, Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, and Yvette Nicole Brown have all appeared in Russo bros MCU movies. They're a pretty close-knit cast and crew on a show that excels at self reference and pop culture references so I don't see how they could do this bit and it not be a direct reference to an iconic scene in one of the most popular movies at the time that was made by a Community alum.
