You are correct, that is a nice rig. With the gooseneck, it's a lot easier to mount a winch as well and have it out of the way if you'd like. The winch can be used to pull disable vehicles into the back or large pieces of debris that need to be hauled off. The hoist makes it easy to onload.

Stumbled onto your channel while looking for dump trailer reviews. Thank you for being so informative, these trailers cost significant money and information is difficult to find from user feedback standpoint. Looking at ordering a Diamond C 16ft 14k with neck deck and a few other options, next spring. Between the scissor and telescopic dump mechanism.

Sorry I just got back to you. First of all thank you for the comment. I would love to have a 16 ft gooseneck with the deck neck. Very versatile set up. I think the scissor lift will serve me well. They say its pretty efficient. Only other option i would co soder is the single cylinder in the front. Thanks for watching!

My Kioti DK4210 fits in my 6x12 dump with the loader sitting the bucket pointing down on the front wall (on pieces of wood). There's no wiggle room though 😁

make sure you get fork holder on your next or even current dump triailer, i have them on my 16' Lamar. I use the forks to put implements on my diamondbak truck cover, stow the fork on the trailer then load up whatever implement and front attachment i need on my B3350.

Great to see that it fits. I'm looking at getting a compact massey. Probably a 1835M and a 14ft dump trailer. My only issue would be if I needed to carry the brush hog since this would be my only large trailer.

That is a downside to a dump trailer. Even with a 16 ft with a loader hanging off the front I doubt the brush hog would fit.

Good idea with renting out your dump trailer, what’s the going rate for the rental in your neck of the woods
@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 3 жыл бұрын
People seem to be happy with our rates. A 2 day rental is $265 and that includes the first ton dump fees. A couple people have tried to say they will pay me $225. As thats the going rate around here for a 10 yard roll off and they say im over priced. Then I find out they have a concrete driveway or a power line in the way and thats why they can't get a roll off. So in the end they call me back and want to rent it anyways. Ive had people happy for 1 day rentals at $175.

Mostly for the cubic yardage. It would be nice to have one about 15 yeards, as this one is aboutn11 yards. Plus a gooseneck would be nice to put attachments above the goosneck.

Tie down chains in back must run forward to attach point on tractor and from the front they must run aft to the tractor loader cross tube. Never have all chains running aft or running forward, and never ever tie down on a 3 point hitch.

Hi there, nice video.... I have a comment re Brand: If you watch KZfaq, DiamondC gets stated as being the best. From the looks of this video, however, i am Thrilled that I went with my H&H (Suretrac). Mine's a deckover, but still comparable- Just one thing that alone that would be a deal-breaker is the Ramps. Omg, you were tossing those ramps around like they are tin foil! You can't possibly do that with mine, wayy too heavy. And those only get supported by the bar on the back, like a few welds. The suretrac has a seriously (and i mean Wicked) thick top plate that reaches all the way onto the trailer bed and still has a piece that drops down into that channel. Seeing those diamond C ramps, there is Absolutely no way I would drive my nearly 9klb mini-ex up those. Just no. (this is a 14k trailer, no?) So, just a heads up for you. Not looking to criticize your unit, but figured this is feedback you might like since you say you may buy another one. Be well, gh~
@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I've heard all good things about Suretrac. These ramps are fairly heavy, as they Re the standard ramps. They do offer a HD upgrade. I too, was worried about how the ramps connected, but it's solid. Not much different that the style semi flat beds use to hook chains to. The stock is quite thick, and so far bo issues. My trailer is a 14,900 gvwr and weighs about 4500 lbs. I really appreciate your feedback. So far I've been happy, but I'm not dedicated to one brand. I will definitely look at Suretrac when we go to buy another!

I watched your video on the purchase of the Diamond C dump trailer late last year. I've been looking but can't find one even close to the price you gave for yours. I know you purchased yours last Sept or Oct but have prices increased that much since then. I'm finding them any where from $10,995 to $11,500 for a 14' low profile with no extras. Would you mind sharing where you purchased yours?

Yes. When the tractor is loaded the rear of the suoerduty drops about 2.5 inches. Even though the rear tires are loaded, there is alot of weight up front.

@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 3 жыл бұрын
I would get 265 for 2 days. That broke down to the trailer made $100 a day, average dump fee is 50, and 15 for fuel. But there are alot of variables depending what they are putting in the trailer or how long they want it. I had someone who only needed it for an hour. I just waited while they filled it and they paid 150.

If that had an implement or a backhoe on the back could you legally tow it with the doors left open and backhoe sticking out a little bit? I want to buy a 14’ dump trailer and use it to transport my mahindra 1533 with backhoe but 14’ might call it awful close with a backhoe on it
@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 2 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it could be done somehow. The doors would.not be able to be in the chained open position, as it would be over 102 inches wide. You may be able to use some sort of strap to hold them closed against your backhoe. Depending on weight of the backhoe my only concern would be having too much weight behind the axles and not having enough tongue weight. I pulled a 14 ft once that had a medium size skid steer in it. It was centered in the trailer but didn't have enough tongue weight to even hook it up to the truck.
@lh98
@lh98 2 жыл бұрын
@@PheasantLaneFarm thanks for the reply, the backhoe is sub frame mounted and only weighs about 1200 pounds so I’m pretty sure with the engine weight and loader weight in the front it would sit pretty evenly weight wise. The whole rig with backhoe on totals about 5500 pounds. I could probably back it in and turn the backhoe to one side and let the loader sit off the trailer back end too. Thanks for the input.
@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 2 жыл бұрын
@@lh98 either way I think you will be fine. The DC has about 800 lbs of tongue weight to start. I'd just pull it in and gor for it. I guess I was thinking the BH weighed more.

You may have already answered this but what do u charge to rent the dump trailer
@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 3 жыл бұрын
Right now most people are booking a 2 day rental for $265. That includes dump fees for the first ton of material. If they want it longer its a better price. Some people only want it for 1 day and we charge $175 for that. Seems to be the going rate around here. There are always people who are advertising 5 days for 150 bucks, but people are happy with our service and are happy with the price.

How do you rent out your trailer...ie craigslist/word of mouth/something else? What do you charge? Do they sign any waivers? Is anyone else allowed to haul it? What do I need to do for insurance and such? I have two tractors and I would like to start renting things out.
@PheasantLaneFarm
@PheasantLaneFarm 3 жыл бұрын
I haven't rented it out since last fall, before I got hurt. But here's how I was doing it. I advertised by FB marketplace and word of mouth. I charged $265 for 2 days and that included the dump fees up to 1 ton. That will vary alot depending on where you are and what your landfills charge. I started an LLC and had business insurance. It was alot lower than I thought it would be. To keep those rates low, I set it up where I would drop the trailer off and lock it up. I would come back after the 2 days and tow it. If you are the only one that hauls it, your insurance will be alot cheaper. I haven't checked prices lately, but I'm guessing its more now with the fuel prices being what they are.
@PheasantLaneFarm

Tractors also need to be under some type of business insurance, although most guys don't do this. Arou d me tractor work goes for 75 to 125 an hour. If you have a skid steer you and get a higher price because they can move more material per hour.
