Great tip about removing their armour before granting fief. Did not know that - it's not intuitive. I've recently arrested the entire kingdom of the Khuzaits in my play through - and none of them are escaping thanks to your tips on building my brother into the ultimate governor. I would also recommend giving some gold to new clans on top of the denars. The reason why is because that way they will be able to afford their a decent sized party. Typically I would recommend giving them 1 town to start with as well, if possible, to provide them with enough sustainable income to make sure they can afford a decent amount of troops. Castles don't provide enough income. Typically I give new clans 1 town and later on, 1 castle. That means that they have 1 party leader and 2 governors. Eventually, this party will help them level their clan tier faster. Start with one town and a castle. If they reach clan tier 3 or higher, that's when they can be given a second town. By this point, ideally they would have had some marriages, allowing their spouses to govern settlements or lead another party.

I feel you kinda have to baby your first couple of promoted vassals, but they really get it together in their own after a while. Just by giving a town, I watched one grow to tier 4 and really handle business. They don't have the man power initially, but they are much more loyal and cheaper to assemble for armies/outvote.

Yo guys if you are having crash after you assigning your companion as a gang leader make sure that your companion is not knocked out. it will solve your problem. worked for me great after testing thrice.

Found a glitch on ps that if you got to the retreat lol dont do it unless you need the extra party but you will abandon your troops there so when you choose your heir you can then assiang your late party a new leader.

To have a good companion leader its nice to go full leadership 250 to get +extra party

One thing you can do to ensure your companion clans grow is to marry off any of your daughters to their lords. Make sure to have lots of kids, they're a valuable resource in the late game!

Hey Flesson, I just leveled my brother party leader in Roguery and realized that the In Best Light perk’s secondary effect of “villages of your clan recover 30% faster.” This effect is labeled party leader. My question is; does this effect stack with each person in the clan that has this perk?

I saw some people say that you could make your Kingdoms clans out of relatives/family members as well, and that it's a better thing to do than promoting random companions because family members can't rebel against you and take the fiefs you give them with them. However that wouldn't really make sense for a few reasons, namely that since you're the king of your own Kindgom, by extension wouldn't all of your family members already be promoted to nobility by being a part of your clan? Meaning there's no way for them to get their ? Regardless, if there is an option to make your family members have their own clans, it's one that I've been unable to find.

A bug I noticed in my game (version 1.1.0) last night was … I helped one of the clans in my kingdom in a battle - I joined on their side. At the end of the battle, after we won, they thanked me, but when I clicked continue I got a huge negative debuff to my relation with them. Like it went to -100! Anyone else had this?

Hi, how can you have your companion clans grow tiers?

Everytime I ventured into create companion clans, the dudes that spawned with it ended up get married to some female clan leader and left the companion clan, and the companion I promoted never ended up get married himself. Strike of bad luck I guess, but consider the "baby sitting" needed to skill up a suitable companion to promote, and then later take their party along with you in an army to fight a lot to level up their clan is quite a chore. I rather spend that time just gather wealth by other means and hire clans that need much less baby sitting.

hi flesson19 1 thing is annoying me is that 1 of my companion died but do to am on xbox I reloaded back before he died but he did not died I still have him after give him back his gear if you think that reload should not have delay his death I want to save his gear befor he die's plus if I start a war with a kingdom that has 9 clan's left with no fief left hide in the are very poor the other's kingdom's wont go to war me am still not a king yet

Is there a hard cap for how many lord clans you can recruit?

I have 30 clans, probably like 40+ fiefs and 22k kingdom strength. 10 companions, 4 with all over 200 sized parties. I could make a super army with probably around 15k guys. Still can't beat Aeseri off the map because every empire clan defected to them at the end of the campaign. Help, I've recruited like 10 of them and there's still 35 Aeserai clans that just won't stop hitting random parts of my kingdom any time I try to expand. Help.

I have given nice castles and cities to my companions, but they still recruit very few soldiers and the garrison soldiers in their lfiefs are dwindling. This is the first time I experience this kind of situation. I'm pretty new in Bannerlord, why is this kind of situation happening?

There's one more big disadvantage of promoting your own companions: it'll increase the cost to bribe other lords, making it nearly impossible to crush rival kingdoms. In BL, the only way to truly defeat a kingdom is to either execute or bribe away other lords. Even if you seize all their land, they'll effectively become bandits and raid your villages, and you'll have to pay tribute to get them to stop. The cost to bribe lords scales into the millions even for "very poor" and landless vassals once you get past 20 lords or so. So for every lord you promote means you won't be able to eliminate a rival lord later on.

By the way there is currently a glitch in the game (for Xbox anyways don't know if it occurs on PC) that seems to happen every time I start a campaign an try to reunite the empire. The quest completes an I don't fail it an despite me knowing it should force every faction of the empire under me as a vassal it doesn't it just forces me into a four way war with khuzait sturgia battania and aserai (thankfully I always decide to execute every vlandian vassal I come across which itself also cause a glitch to occur where if they have any mercenaries hired under them the moment you execute the last lord the mercenaries become "destroyed" and left with only the clan leaders and cannot regain members an the clan still exists but it's supposedly destroyed but still active)
