I feel like you are a very smart player.i like the way you always leave an mg or anything to stop the approaching counter attack from capturing the territories.but you almost always forget about flanking.its not as if you have to move a dozen infantry to make a flank.all you have to do is to nest an mg somewhere close to the corner where your enemy expects to just capture freely since its so far from the battlefield.i mean a properly positioned mg can pretty much make two carelessly qeued to capture squads retreat.also most of your units are idol when they can move around maybe build a row pf sandbags or tank traps.speaking of it,you are always left behind in amor.i get that the idea of just jumping into a tiger or any heavy tank is fascinating,;but as cool as it is,you burden your ally with the provision of light and medium armor which i get if you have some sort of a preplanned strategy with your guy,but then again it is so much pressure.and while you try to make up for the lacking firepower of a tank by building sth to counter it lets say an AT,your enemy (along with your struggling ally)has already stepped forward and built the first couple of tanks in the game.which combined with artillary that almost every single battalion and faction has,makes your AT and infantry almost useless.see how often you have to retreat?sometimes two squads at a time in the same front?thats why.although part of it also due to lack of proper cover which is always neglected on your side.you also bunch up yout soldiers to the extent of having 4 of killed by one blast coming from a light tank.all these aside,i never get the idea of fully committing to defence.in my experience it never works.no matter how much you spend on bunkers,nests,flak emplacements,mines and generally any defensive structure,the enemy can always wipe it out in two sets of artillary/airstrikes.i mean you just saw your ally lose so much on those flaks.also personally i would recommend a minor retreat point (with the ambulance and such)only if you have the unit allowing you to set up a retreat point.otherwise its not really worth it.the protection,the fuel ....on a last note,someone once told me "if you have the munitions to conduct and airstrike or use any of your skills and you dont,you'd better have a plan for it for the next 2 min max in early game and 1 min later on".which is the general idea of skill usage in rts games i guess.
