Definitely the best comparison I've seen. I own both currently and you touched alot of great points. Another awesome point is the size difference helps with userbility (at least for me.) it helps with the weight and balance ratio. I will say though at 3:16 when you started shaking your hand like that talking about it not moving around was SOOO triggering. 😆 I literally thought it was having a hard time calibrating for a moment there. 😅

Very nice comparison, the best I've seen to date. You definitely made a solid case for OM6 but were good at trying to show the pros and cons of both.

Thanks for b the info. I did notice if you need the extra down angle you can extend the stick and it bends at the top for that extra angle you need. 😉

Is there a mode on app or not so I can make a pannoramic move while recording a timelapse? Supose I want a sunset but with a pan during 1 hour or so. Can it be done?

Excellent review. Thank you! I think I ordered the last new OS 5, but it is not here yet. So I ordered the OS 6. It came today. After your review, I think I will keep the 6 and send the 5 back and let someone else have a new OS 5 since they are extinct.

Is the 5 compatible with iPhone 14 pro? or would you recommend that I just jump right to 6? I'm planning a trip to Asia, and want to ensure that I get stable footage in Thailand and Singapore.

Great comparison video. At the very end of the video, however, it looks like you've attached your iPhone 14 Pro Max directly to the Osmo 6 without the clamp. Is that the case and if so, what was the case you used?

I used to have OM 4se and when I move to 5 my first issue I hate is the zoom button. Why they put it there? It is so difficult to operate. And also the mode button is also in the worst place possible. And the mechanism works better on om 4se. The only benefit on the om5 vs 4se is the size and the selfie stick (if you use it) but for me was better the om4se. But that 6 looks the zoom is more ergonomic probably I will try it because OM 5 it is no easy to operate.

Hey there I don’t worry about the batteries on these anymore. Even back in the days, with OSMO version 1, shooting at an event for four hours straight with the gimbal on all the time, it does not drain all of the batteries. I have never had issue with any gimbal, including Zhiyun, when it come to batteries. Your phone will run out of batteries before the gimbal.

I do use the original DJI Clamp as well, but this MagSafe attachment makes it super handy to remove the phone without using the DJI Clamp

I understand that the osmos 6 gives you the ability to change modes while using the native camera app on the phone but with the Bluetooth connection are you able to finally control the zoom and the native camera app with the osmo 6?

Om 6 is batter but if you compare it with smooth 5 than smooth 5 can handle more load.

@@muneeburrehman2979 Smooth 5 actually does what a gimbal should do. There is a very basic gimbal move that the DJI OM and Q series just can't do. That was the reason why I bought the Smooth 5

you did not mention the battery, om6 is 1000mah, while om5 is 2600mah, if battery life is important, then go for om5. what's the point of added new features when u cant even use it for long?

Valid point. All the OM that I have used, all the way back to the first version has last at least half a day of shooting. The reason why it only half a day of continuous shooting is because the phone ran out of battery before the gimbal does. I’m not too concerned about batteries anymore when it comes to Gimbal. This also applies to Ronin as well. I also want to add that these are the bigger iPhones. iPhone 7 Plus & Pro Max so the gimbal is working harder.

@@techbyleon yes it's very true. however in my opinion I think Om6 is not a really good gimbal for long-term usage. it's better to invest in the hohem m6 or mt3, these two gimbals have AI tracking without the usage of apps and it can handle big loads. if you can get your hands on it, let me know what you think. because I know for sure the battery can continuously last more than half a day.

@@heroniri for Hohem, I have used the MT2 but not the M6. But I believe the tracking module is the same. I think that tech is VERY good and I’m glad Hohem is separating themselves from The other big 3 gimbal maker. I have only tested the MT2 for a day so I can’t really say if I like it yet. Tracking subject is just as good as any DJI product but you will miss out on moving Timelapse using the module for tracking. I am waiting for DJI and Zhiyun to bring that tech to the bigger gimbals.
