Good Video : I never understood why there was no continuity of the manufacture of aluminum shelled motorcycle helmets . It's only once that I have seen an aluminum shelled motorcycle helmet . If the military uses them they must be good . Metal shelled helmets are used in the Army , Navy, and Airforce .

I would assume weight would be the biggest reason, Then manufacturer process second.

The FIA highest standard for helmets is not 8858 but the 8860. The FIA 8858 is for FHR systems. The 8860 is the one for the top of the range Advanced helmets.

I’m 6’-4” and have a sunroof car and I’m trying to find a low profile helmet that’s under a $1000, Is there one you recommend that has a lower profile?

We have had people come in and do this over the years, and really they are all about the same, you will almost never gain the headroom you're looking for. The solution is sitting lower in the car, either by modifying the existing seat or going aftermarket.
