This has been the most useful "removers of oxidizing colour" video I have seen yet.

@@CosmoDad I didn't know about using developer after to test if all the dye is out. That might explain why mine darkened when I applied peroxide based lightener spray with heat, immediately after using a molecular reducer (Vitamin C). I am now about to use my favourite dye remover, Colour B4, a British product. I waited for it in the mail all the way from the UK, to Canada. When I used it in the past it got even the orange dye molecules out of my hair, and it is surfactant based, no sulfur.

@@CosmoDad I also just learned, from the Colour B4 box, that hair products with silicone in them, where heat has been used, can prevent the product from removing dye, because silicone is plastic, that can melt into the cortex of your hair! Anything that ends in "-icone", such as dimethicone, and amodimethicone and phenyl trimethicone. I use at least two products that contain these. I used extra heat on the top of my head recently, trying to get the peroxide to lighten my hair, and it turned copper and pink!! I bet if I ever melted plastic into my hair, that time I surely did. But I'm gonna get it squeaky clean, no conditioner. with chelating shampoo before I use the dye remover. The copper colour in my hair might also be actual copper metal deposits from hard water.

@@CosmoDad No thanks for not watching mine, deleting my request and not helping me out. SO much for that. It's all "you watch mine but I won't watch yours!!" isn't it? Well just watch me unsubscribe.

I don't know what you are talking about. If you asked me to watch a video, it may have been filtered out automatically for some reason. The only comments I delete are blatant harassment.

this makes me feel so much better about using demi-/permanent color for a more natural feel without feeling married to the color. ty cosmo dad :)

I follow a phd hair chemist who designed the shades EQ and he teaches that nothing falls out of the hair ever...It only fragments within the cortex. We were always taught that they shrink and leave the cortex. But he teaches this is not the case they just fragment and disperse within the environment? Also this happens often after fragmentation that the fragmented pigments can start to cluster together again over time and this is why sometimes brassiness appears out of left field ..This happens in lightening/ decomposing hair pigment too? ..thought you may find this worthy of a ponder . Love you channel ..great for all of us nerdy people.

This video was great and sharing with my hairstylist friends. I am in the process of removing dark brown color. We used the Goldwell remover (the new one with the bond builder ). We had 1 patch of hair and used Loreal effasol (sp?) and even though that lifted better it had made that patch of hair so frizzy. The Goldwell was left in fabulous condition.

Thanks for sharing!! I will have to compare the Goldwell one in a future video. I've never used it. I love their Elumen color though.

Hello! I’ve done the Elimin8 twice now. Once two weeks ago and another last thursday. Can I do it again? Can I do it 3 times back to back? it gives me a great shade but then reoxidizes when I wash it again :(
@CosmoDad
@CosmoDad Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do the elimin8 again. Whenever I use it, I apply it 2-3 times back to back on the same day. Thanks for watching!

I haven't had alot of experience with shades EQ. I'm assuming the T stands for Titanium? The great thing about hair color is that there are so many right answers. It sounds like it's worth a shot. My only question is, did all the lightened hair turn pink? Or did some turn pink and some not?
@wendy8561
@wendy8561 3 жыл бұрын
@@CosmoDad it's a peachy pink , and it's just on the spots that is brassy,thank you for replying but yeah it's titanium, what is your go-to color formula for someone with brassy maybe level eight and nine hair balayage cuz I still have a lot of brown as far as a toner? I don't know what product you normally work with I've heard good things about color sync matrix I know you cannot just go by someone else's recipe it's so hard but I gave it a shot going to use 9pand 9t 9v equal parts

I usually avoid violet when I have unwanted pink tones because it can sometimes enhance the pink instead of diminishing it. (Since a light violet is essentially a mixture of blue and pink) There are so many physical factors that it is hard to say but my go-to tone when there is uneven lift is N. It sounds really simple but a Neutral will soften any tone. Too warm, too cool, a neutral gently bring it to center without messing up the good parts
