I seem to have collected a trio of manual reel mowers, so here’s my comparison and review of the three I own and which is my favourite.
I apologise for the mic sound in the video. I put my cardigan on after doing a mic test and didn’t realise it causes interference. Schoolgirl error! 😭

Thank you. I can only review on what I have used but the Einhell is still by far my favourite. It has cut through wet grass over winter really well too.

First video of yours that I saw, and I got into it because of the Einhell mower, since I am thinking about buying it. I enjoy mowing a lot and since it is a small yard, I thought about getting a manual one. Anyhow, great video, appreciate the full review, definitely helped me in my decision!

Thank you. Glad I could help. I still use it for all of the smaller lawns (5 in total) some 8 months later. It’s handled pretty long and wet grass too. Very impressed with it. Happy gardening 😍

I have about 9 push cylinder mowers in total, all except one, are vintage mowers I have restored, but you chose the wrong three to buy i.m.h.o, you should have bought the Webb weh12r, it is a new mower, but based on an old design of the qualcast superlite panther from the 70's, only difference the modern Webb weh12r has a plastic rear roller, instead of steel, like the old superlite panther it is designed on. The weh12r is about 11Kg in weight, razor sharp, cutting height from about 13mm up to 26mm, and gives beautiful stripes that really pop out. It is lovely to use and move about once set up correctly, as it will cut strips of paper with virtually zero contact between the cylinder blades and bottom bed knife. If you ever see one, ask to try it, you will never use any of your old three mowers again, and stick to using the weh12r all the time. And no effort at all to push along, so you never know, your lazy husband may actually start mowing instead of you😂😂😂😂😂

Ha.. he’s not lazy at all. We’re farmers! He just doesn’t like cutting too often and wasting fuel. The mower you recommend was what I was hoping to replace the first Webb with. Couldn’t get stock of it at the time. Was also a tad put off by the build quality, given I’ve had to weld the handles of my auto sidewheel 30 twice now. 🙈 No denying the Webb mowers do give a nice cut though. The WEH-18 is not really suitable for my lawn. It’s just too heavy and cuts too high. If you like a jungle length lawn, it’d be cool. When I buy a fourth (I’m sure I will) .. I’ll take your recommendation on board and keep a look out for one in stock. 😀

@@TheFarmyardGarden 🤣🤣I know, was only joking, but usually it is the man in the household who is proud of the lawn and mows it🤣🤣🤣lots of second hand Webb weh12r mowers about on e bay, gumtree, Facebook marketplace etc, in fact I have a spare one that I bought secondhand as I like it so much, and use my brand new one on totally dry Summer days, then use my second hand one when wetter at this time of year🤣🤣🤣you will love it when you get one, but you can't beat the old vintage ones like the Ransomes Ajax, Webb witch, jp maxees, qualcast panther, super panther etc for engineering and quality, but they all weigh over 20Kg each, hence why they give superb stripes, so would be far too heavy and hard work for yourself, so stick to getting the newer lighter weh12r😉

@@markslade9722 don’t think I’d have a lawn if my husband had his way. Grass = grazing to him. Not productive enough just looking pretty. We’re expanding our home allotment plot though soon, so I’ll need another mower for those grass paths…. 🤣

How can cutting up to 70 mm be a disadvantage when you decide the height of cut? 😬

Because it doesn’t cut short enough. Who wants a lawn 7cm long? 2.5cm is the lowest it cuts but you can’t cut that low or the body of the mower just scalps the lawn somehow.

Definitely! It’s so light and cuts wet grass so much better than the smaller Webb. The grass box doesn’t collect everything, but I can live with that.

Cheers for the review. I think I might buy the Einhell. The same one in your video is advertised along with a bladed strimmer. Do you have any experience with Einhell strimmers?

I really don’t like it when companies aren’t good with after sales service. I wouldn’t have bought the bigger Webb. My husband did. The smaller one is ok but the Einhell cuts far easier and lighter

The Einhell just has a handle on a pin to pull out and shift up and down in notches on the chassis.

@@TheFarmyardGarden If they are powered by wheels then it's just a reel mower. If it does not have wheels it will have 2 cylinders that provide the power. Most all gas powered reel mowers are cylinder mowers.

@eyesaidthat2109 I have a british vintage push mower. when I requested a quote for a new reel blades to a manufacturer in the UK, the rep called "cylinder & blades". Any reel mowers has cylinder and blades are welded, thats how I understood 👀
