I have these 2 doorbells. The fact the battery one, even when its wired, starts recording the person very late is a deal breaker. Especially if the person approaches from the side. It only picks them up when they have pretty much already walked by. Where as the cheaper wired doorbell has some sort of preroll feature. I'm returning the battery one.

i love my spotlight camera. No infrared white/black you get pure color with a light and an alarm siren! nowadays with porch pirates we need the spotlight color version.

Just picked up the wired version on Prime day. Agree the battery version seems better based on your review but couldn’t pass on the sub-$50 price tag. Happy with the wide viewing angle and sound is acceptable for our needs and super easy to install. We use our Alexa Echos for notification. Great job on this video, as well as the others. Keep at it and you’ll increase your subs for sure!

I just bought the battery version and it’s working great.

I have the battery powered version. Works well when it works... seems that after some weeks it slows down on alerts and then starts missing events completely. The ring customer service is very good. Had to call them several times in the last 3 months. We set up the adjustments repeatedly but it still slowly stops working as advertised,. Eventually they are just sending me a new unit. Hope this one works.

Bought the battery version and wired to the existing chime and it's working great.

The last thing I want to do is remove the camera bezel and the camera and take it inside to recharge. The quality isn't that much different for the majority of applications.. I have the wired version and never had a single issue with it. Both are quite capable of producing very close to same resolution and the 15/fps vs/24fps is insignifcant unless you are watching something zoom by blistering fast crossing the camera. Also with either and say you lose power to your house - neither will capture or work because your wi-fi internet router has no power either.

I'm looking for -anti theft -door mount -my door is like an inch + thick so not too thick -my door swings OUT -I also have a door skirt I am having the hardest time finding what I'm looking for
