Really, really enjoyed this Jeff! I was gutted I couldn't watch live; Stratocaster's are my favorite topic. Absolutely love your 64, the board is soooo dark! But, I gotta say the neck pickup on the "new" 68 is pretty special. Anyway, great vid 🙂

I love the "Inside Baseball" talk about NAMM. I'd love to make the trip someday (I work for a distributor/reseller so it could technically be in a professional context) just to take it all in but it sounds like the the best days of NAMM are in the past.

Just the Tube Screamer on sounded immense ! what were the settings on the pedal and the amp for your first strat ?

I’m liking the Red ‘68 a lot. It has more tubular neck pickup sound which is what i like. I was really impressed with the Yngwie. Great tones for noiseless. It still sounds very stratty.

Not only do look different but they sound different. They also feel different, sit against your body differently, the knobs are sometimes in a miniscule-ly different position and different weight and balance..... And all of this make me play them - differently 😎

I’d love a video which focuses on blues phrasing, not in terms of chord tones and arpeggios but more so with how to better create phrases using passing tones like 2nds, 4ths, 6ths etc. I know, I should just listen to BB King.

68 strat in candy apple red is the clear winner for me

I wish you would describe your software setup that allows you to play along with backing tracks, mixing with guitar inside the computer. Also, it's the things you say as casual asides that are often the most valuable. The tip to roll of the volume knob just slightly is right on the money. So many guys just park it on 10, but often the best tone is just south of that.

you clearly love your strats Jeff......i used to have one just like the first one in the early 70s...must have been one of those strats from the late Leo days going over to early cbs years....didn't realize back then what had gone on with Leo selling up...oh well...i ended painting it a diffent colour and selling it....haa.....now all i've got is a mexican one...modified though......and guess what...i just bought a Gibson SG 61 "faded" one....seems quite good so far...but i gues my prs's are the better player and sounding guitars....anyways...stay safe cheers...

What comes first in the chain, fuzz or duelist?

The red 68' is my favourite. A little fatter, especially on the neck pickup. It sounds like 09-42 on these guitars or is it 10's? These are valuable reviews for many people, good work. Thanks!

Totally agree bringing a personal guitar to Namm, without plans to work is silly. Way too much trouble for nothing. Plus, good luck enjoying yourself with worrying about your guitar full time.
