I had 2 border collies on the farm, they managed sheep and hogs. The 45-pound dogs had total control of 300-pound sows. My wife groomed poodles for 20 years. Today we have a toy rat terrier just as smart as any border collie or poodle. She anticipates my next two moves before I make them, and she runs our household.

i understand that it is difficult to get this thing 100% right and there is a disclaimer that it can have some mistakes. But that level of mistakes? Bloodhound is by no means stupid dog its just designed to follow the sent without distractions. Beagle actually has more neurons in its frontal cortex than Golden retriever which means there is a good chance that it is actually smarter at least in some aspects of intelligence considering that the amount of extra neurons it has is somewhat significant. and Beagle certainly doesn't belong at the bottom of the scale. Australian cattle dog Rottweiler and doberman probably belong higher on the list. but this can be overlooked considering there is no way to measure intelligence in all of its aspects and it would be difficult to make the list 100% accurate. but the mistakes like the one with bloodhound and Beagle should not have happened because they are not minor they are quite large. and there was almost no actual research done. just look on the first list and repeat it. in some things this is fine but not when measuring intellect. and if comparing sense of smell of different animals even most basic look on the info anywhere and an ounce of common sense would make you realize that distance snake can detect its prey is much much then 5 meters. now of course I could be wrong about that but Komodo dragon being able to smell from distance of 8 km yet snake being able to smell for only couple of meters that makes no sense to me if they rely on similar organ and if snake was able to smell his prey from only couple of meters his sense of smell would be almost useless. I think at least some actual checking of information should be done.
