The May Cheong Group that owns Maisto and Bburago has recently released a 1/18 Ferrari F50 coupe under the Bburago brand, but it is a re-release of the old 90s Maisto coupe. In this video, I will compare it to the old 90s Bburago (Made in Italy) and also with the Hot Wheels Ferrari F50, which is based on the old Maisto F50 but still has a few differences.
Old Bburago:
+ available in several colors (red, yellow, blue, silver, black, white)
+ available in coupe and convertible form
+ prettiest and most detailed interior
+/- prettiest headlights (but not accurate to the real F50)
+ raised ferrari lettering underneath the spoiler
+ spoiler seamlessly attached to car body
+ raised f50 logo on passenger side dash (separate chrome piece)
+ no rear wheel arch underspray
+ seats are straight
+ can be displayed inside box
- old paint
- no centrelocks
- no brake discs
- no ferrari luggage (handbag)
- no two-tone indicators
- front trunk underspray
- no black dot next to front grille
Old Maisto:
+ available in several colors (red, yellow)
+ available in coupe and convertible form
+ realistic headlights
+ realistic wheels (accurate shape & matte silver color)
+ has centrelocks
+ has brake discs
+ ferrari luggage (handbag)
+ two-tone indicators
+ spoiler seamlessly attached to car body
+ realistic and working spring coil suspension
+ f50 logo on passenger side dash
+ no front trunk underspray
+ tire wall branding
+ seats are straight
+ can be displayed inside box
- ferrari lettering underneath the spoiler just a print
- old paint
- rear wheel arch underspray (not on all, but many batches)
- no black dot next to front grille
New Bburago (same as Old Maisto, except):
+ new paint
+ no rear wheel arch underspray
- only available in red
- only available as a coupe
- no tire wall branding
- seats are crooked
Hot Wheels (same as Old Maisto, except):
+ raised Ferrari lettering underneath the spoiler
+ black dot next to front grille
- spoiler not seamlessly attached to car body
- no spring coil suspension on red coupe
- no f50 logo on passenger side dash
- cannot be displayed inside box
Conclusion:
To me, the New Bburago wins. Because it takes all the positives from the old maisto, has the least amount of negatives, and while it loses tire wall branding, it has new paint.
