People in the comment section really don't understand binomial classification. Humans belong to the Animalia kingdom and the Eukarya domain, we are therefore animals. Why do so many people here that think humans aren't animals or that every living thing is an animal such as bacteria despite it being prokaryotic?

@No Name Yes, we are. Once again, humans are eukaryotic, multicellular organisms composed of animal cells. All binomial classifications place us in the Eukarya domain and the Animalia kingdom which means we are scientifically classified as animals. No offence but this is elementary biology that isn't disputed by anyone in the field, you can literally search up "homo-sapien" and the kingdom stated is Animalia. I don't see why you replied to my comment with a simple statement that I already debunked, you could've at least mentioned your line of thinking.

BearkyBearky That is extremely debatable since it’s true viruses can replicate themselves but, in order to replicate, viruses must first hijack the reproductive equipment of a host cell, redirecting it to ‘photocopy’ the genetic code of the virus and seal it inside a newly formed container, known as the capsid. Without a host cell, the virus simply can’t replicate. Viruses fail the second question for the same reason. Unlike other living organisms that can self-divide, splitting a single cell into two, viruses must ‘assemble’ themselves by taking control of the host cell, which manufactures and assembles the viral components. Finally, a virus isn’t considered living because it doesn’t need to consume energy to survive, nor is it able to regulate its own temperature.
