You are right, you can get one of each Feniex for the price of 1 ION. Price is not taken in count when we talk about safety. You'll not have my opinion on those because I want to be the most objective as possible. But I itch to give it to you...

Both are TIR or similar lens which are very narrow directional. The ion has probably a better top lens that is able to spread the light wider than the T3 does. What do you think ?

@@malfroum The T3 & ION both have similar lenses where they have a TIR cone behind the fluted outer lens. Obviously the ION has larger flutes and also three more diodes. The Fusion 180° doesn't have a chance. Because it's build for the 180° spread not head on punch. I'd like to see this video re-shot using the Fusion 40°. I personally spec for my customers the 40° optic in the Fusions unless maybe I'm addi g a 180° on the end of a lightstick or Interior Lightbar. I really do not preffer the 180° Surface Mounts.

I'm going to preface this with I am a feniex dealer, just because of that I don't want you to think I'm just going to be all for feniex. I'm a volunteer firefighter and ems, I run mostly feniex with some whelen(single color par 28's to be exact) I personally have not had any overheating issues with feniex whether be the fusion or quad series and likewise with the whelen. I have a friend with a mostly whelen setup and he says he does have some difficulty getting ahold of whelen for any warranty issues or questions in general, he's said he has a better chance going through a major retailer that is a dealer for whelen like strobes n more or Vineland Auto Electric(a large dealer/installer with most if not all of your major brands. Personally I usually hear back from feniex within 24-48 hours as long as I email them during regular business hours. Personally I would go with feniex due to quality being right there with whelen for a more affordable price, when you get into their wecanx with the cencom sapphire/carbide I believe whelen takes the cake feniex one is supposed to be their version of that but I have not had any hands on time to tell you, it is still brand new to the market

No that's a 180° optic. I should've precise this 😅 And I have the feniex fusion 40° on my dashlight, this is much brighter than 180 (that's what I think)

If your gonna get fenix lights use 40 degree they are wayyy brighter. The 180 optic I was not so happy with

@@Flywithjon 180 degree optics have their place where they do well and that's for off axis lighting like the ends of a visor bar to help reach further back but they are not made to project light far they are to project wide.

@@rickwilley1385 I know but they are not bright at all. I can barley see mine mounted outside in the day time.
