Thanks for this, Jerod! Since you're doing comparisons, could you react to Daryl's collab with Jay R (the Philippine king of RnB) - 'BAKIT PA BA / KABILANG DAKO' (on Daryl's channel). It's in Tagalog though but you could still compare their vocal styles. Daryl arranged this mash-up of two of Jay R's songs as Jay R has been Daryl's inspiration since Daryl started in his career.

Can't really compare original to cover songs. But singers like Daryl when he makes cover songs, he make those songs level up and sound like totally a new song. Daryl can sing the originsl version for sure. Question is, can the original singer sing Daryl's version? But of course, credit goes to the original singer.

The difference between both artists is fluidity. Daryl Ong is excellent in interpreting the song without cut on its melody. Ed Sheeran is just like reading a poem, stopping on each stanza.

Ed is a great songwriter and story teller..he has a talent with hooks..a word, a phrase that stays with you. Darrell is a great singer. No need for videos with Darrell. Close your eyes and listen to that voice. Emotion is conveyed so clearly you feel the angst, the pain..bravo DARRELL

Nothing can top an "original." Except a well done cover.

Daryl Ong IMO has the better voice in all notes and techniques.. Ed i hear a lot of straining and noticed shortness or cut off words in the upper range. Also i hear auto tune sounded a little robotic. But the lyrics he wrote is poetry ...this is where he shines! Thanks for sharing the Original by Ed this was the first time for me to see it thank u! With the video of Ed's music was use for a movie so you get to feel it based on that. But with Daryl singing it on his own you felt the emotion behind it, a certain insecurity like it is one sided and not sure how the other end really feels. You get what the song really meant on personal basis.

You're just sitiing on the fence Jerod: : Ed Sheeran's is better and the reasons why are 1. Sheeran's is a much better production 2: The feel doesn't suit Daryl, his version feels much too cheesy-soul , so, even though his voice is good it's inappropriate / doesn't work . it's too sentimental. With other songs Daryl's cool., but not here. You need to listen harder and think in a more nuanced way before you make these reactions.

ED SHEERAN is incredible and incomparisable so don't u dare to compare him with others you fool
