The ROBOSCHAF Test Series 2024 is in full swing. This time we present the Husqvarna Nera 410 XE robotic mower and test it against the Solo Pro3. We also take a closer look at the new Stihl iMow 5 Evo. The standardized test procedure covers an entire season and shows in detail where these robotic lawn mowers differ. So far, the Husqvarna Automower EPOS has covered large parts of this area and we were quite satisfied with the result. Despite the known weaknesses of the RTK systems, we were positively surprised by the high level of reliability in particular. Unfortunately, its little brother Nera can't quite keep up. A new chassis plus new Edge Cut technology promise perfect edge mowing without reworking. But that's not quite the case.
The Solo Pro3 is often praised by us, so it gets the most difficult test conditions. However, it handles a very wet lawn, in which every unnecessary track is immediately visible, incredibly well and the cutting pattern is really first-class. This is where its low weight comes in handy.
The new Stihl iMow 5 Evo does not boast a low weight, but it does have interesting controls. It remains to be seen how it will fare in the test. However, the first impression was not bad, although we suspect that it could soon become tight on inclines.
What else will be in the test? The Luba 2 is already ready and we are very excited to see what the change to omnidirectional wheels will change. It also has a camera for navigation.
In the next few videos, we will discuss what the general navigation of the future will look like. Many of the current GPS RTK robots without cables have problems or are not reliable enough. Additional aids will be needed, or you will have to stick with wired systems. Less flexible, but very reliable.
