A 70mm film, scanned in 8K and 12K, released in 4K with Dolby Vision. That’s pretty much a guarantee for success!

On a UHD TV, the 4k pops with color. The 1080p is amazing in unconventional though. The cinematography was so special in this film. The history is something we shouldn't forget too

I watched the 4K the other day, and my gosh it was incredible! I didn't own the film on Blu-Ray so for me it was no question about upgrading, because I had nothing to upgrade from lol. So I'm not sure about how exactly it compares to the Blu-Ray or if it would be worth upgrading, but I can say that the 4K is absolutely STUNNING!

As someone who owns around 30 4K blu-rays, Lawrence is undoubtedly the best I've seen. Some of the ones I own are considered "reference quality" 4K's, but believe me when I say Lawrence in 4K is the best looking and sounding film I've had the privilege of experiencing. The blu-ray is very, very good--but there's no comparison. This video does the best it can to represent the difference, but it's no substitute for seeing both versions on a large screen. If you're on the fence because the price tag is higher for the 4K version, from firsthand experience I can say with certainty it is worth the upcharge.

I'll be honest, I bought the standard bluray and was blown away by how great it looked. Also recently purchased the 4k steelbook, as this film stands right at the top of my all time favourites.

I'll be purchasing this since I don't own the movie yet. But your comparison shows just how good the Remastered is. Excellent as always!.

Mine arrives in a few days. The improvements seem minimal. Especially since the BD was already fantastic. This my favourite film! I’m so happy to have most of my favourites on 4K! ALIEN, JAWS, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS, 2001.Does the disc break occur during the Intermission? I still have the first DVD Edition that did so. I also had the Superbit Edition but the disc break didn’t occur at the Intermission. You should do a comparison of the DVD Edition to the BD and the 4K. 😀

I say unless you have money to blow, the Blu ray looks pretty good to me.

The problem is the standard Blu Ray was already amazing so the 4k transfer wasn’t relatively impressive It was filmed on 65 mm iirc so it’s going to look good whether it’s 1080P or 4K

The Blu ray should get upscaled to 4K when played in a 4K disc player.

I have the restored blu ray disk and love it. I bought the Dolby vision today to watch on my new OLED and it looks garbage, honestly. It’s the TV fault I’m sure…. Can’t handle the low light dark scenes at all :(
