Disney are developing quite a bad reputation for 4k transfers, I can see why. Sony films on the other hand are always superb in 4k and a marked improvement from the blu-ray version.

The original colors were already bad (yellow/green) ! Transfer could have correct that ! Look at the colors of the first trilogy ! This is not STAR WARS colors unfortunately !

I seriously dont see a huge difference maybe the black getting blacker if that is even a word. But other than that nothing else.

All it is is a contrast change. That's almost as disappointing as finding out they did not release the theatrical versions in Blu-ray 4k.

Honestly still loving my 1080p projector... just don’t feel the need to upgrade it yet. A few subtle differences for $3000+. Thanks for the videos- keep them coming!

The problem is it’s not a true 4K

With the difference in resolution being indistinguishable via KZfaq, I can say I like most of the differences shown. A few scenes look a tad washed out in the 4k version but my guess is that's the look they were going for. In most cases, the blacks look blacker with better overall contrast and color saturation without becoming cartoon-like. Some scenes also show a definite change in color temperature. In most of those cases, I thought the changes were for the better. They may have gone a little overboard with the contrast & saturation in the scene showing Rey in front of Tatooine's twin suns but overall I think I made the correct choice pre-ordering the 4k (Best Buy steelbook) version. Damn, now I'm gonna have to rebuy everything up through Rogue One on 4k. I've literally lost track of how many versions & packaging options of this franchise I've bought over the years starting with the originals on VHS, which I still have!

Both look ugly.. too many Green! Better in dolby theaters or IMAX

To be honest there is no difference between the 1080 and 4K version. Other movies are noticable but this one is so subtle only a few scenes have pop but still not that grand. Star Trek is way more better if I have to compare.
