Hi Naoto san ! Thanks but I’m wondering : Same action? Same pickup height? Same strings? Same vol & tone settings? Same passive circuitry with 250kA pots and 0,05microF capacitor? Were all screws well tight on both basses, especially the neck bolts? The Japanese sounds slightly more present but it’s not sure that represents an absolute statement

hello! I recorded with the same strings and the same system, but due to the difference in output, I changed the height of the pickup. Vintage has high gain and japan has low , so I raised it considerably.

@@naototada ahá that’s interesting. Pickup height does not just affect volume but also attack & sustain. So this is why the Japanese p-bass sounds more present I guess. It would be nice to make that comparison again with same pickup height, just adjusting the input gain on the preamp, wouldn’t it ?

@@naototada do you know the reason why the 2 pickups have different output levels ? Maybe I misunderstood, but is the USA vintage really stronger than the Japanese ? Generally such Japanese basses have ceramic style pickups with high output…
