I never like it when they dub the siren in later, it's always the incorrect sound! What should be a mighty Q ends up sounding like a little kid's battery operated toy siren from the 50s.

@@blazer8451 the one pictured on the light blue Caddy on the roof is a Federal Q2B, you can clearly see the "F" Federal logo on it. They dubbed an electronic sounding siren in later, probably in post production.

That is a great siren sound especially the old ambulance from Emergency! And on Engine 51 in season 1 and 2

0:57 Someone did a really nice job on the conversion of that '70 Cadillac. It must have been a pain for the EMTs, having to crouch down in those old ambulances, but they got there in style.

Lol, a study was actually conducted in Rochester, MN that proved chest compressions were more effective in this style ambulance because the attendants were able to brace their backs against the ceiling! Sadly, out of hospital survival hasn’t really improved since this style of ambulance was phased out.

@@kbittorf335 of course the modern days will phase out the better stuff. The only problem i see with using these again is they need better sirens and lights as it would have to be up to code.

@@That_2_guy2TThe problem with using these again is they’re incredibly cramped inside. Modern ambulances have room for more equipment and personnel, which is why car-derived ambulances were phased out, worldwide, decades ago.

I looked at the 1969 White Pages; there was definitely a Physicians Ambulance listed so these are probably hired for the shoots.

St Paul FD had a 1962 caddy ambulance,beacon,arrow flashers,1964 we had international travelall,1974 coppy LA paramedic program🚨

At 6:11 you can see it looks to be a '67 or '68 Pontiac chassis that the coachworks is on. Quite a bit more scarce than a Cadillac of the same era. Good compilation from the original Hawaii Five-O series.

It's done by Superior. About the most common coach builder, but maybe not the most common chassis....although there were a great many of these Pontiac coaches.
