Best video I’ve seen. So helpful especially in stacking! We had good luck last May using genie + and felt like we got in most every ride we wanted but missed a couple by not maximizing our benefit. Headed back this October and can’t wait to try all these strategies

This was such a well done video! Genie + can be confusing so I loved how you showed real time how you booked them and then used them. I think the benefit to telling a cast member that you want to do rider swap when you have a LL is so that second person can have someone go on with them again. So if we have a LL for say Splash Mountain, someone needs to hang back with our 3 year old but our 5 year old can go on with one parent, then swap so the 5 year old gets to go on again with the other parent even though they’ve already used their LL for that ride.

You’re welcome! I’m a visual learner so definitely wanted to include it for others. It definitely gets to be a lot. 😅 Okay so we always rope drop the big rides so I’ve not did this but I would suggest giving someone in your travel party a crash course, pull up the app and tell them to hit refresh with a time or two in mind that they can book while you handle the Genie+ selection.

This video was awesome! I am a visual learner and seeing you do it all in the app was massively helpful. Do you know- if each member of my party buys Genie+ separately (a group of adults), and they're all in my family and friends list, can I book the Lightning Lanes for us all? Or is it easier to purchase from the account that will be making the selections?

So glad it was helpful! If they all buy it and are on your Friends and Family you can definitely book things for everyone. Each person or as couples whatever would need to have purchased before 7am for your first booking opportunity.

Loved the video! This sent me back to the anxiety I had trying to book Seven Dwarfs Mine Train lol. For some reason my card on file glitched my first time trying and I had to start over. Still managed to get it, although it was much later in the day. Any recommendations on how to avoid that next time? I had even called the bank beforehand to let them know we would be out of town and everything.

Hmm, one way would be to buy a Disney Gift Card in advance and use that to pay for your Genie+ & Lightning Lanes.

Thank you for this! I am traveling with my husband and two girls in a few weeks. I noticed at your LL check in, you guys were using magic bands. In other videos that I have seen, people use their phones. Do you know if you can check in with one phone for multiple people? Or do we need the bands if going in a group?

You’re welcome! You can use magic mobile for your party, you’ll just have to digitally scroll through each persons card to scan. It’s a good option but one more thing draining your phone battery.

Ok so if there is a ride that my two younger kids can’t go on but my two older ones can, can my husband go with the two older while I take care of the babies and then I can swap and go by myself or will my older kids get to go again with me? Thanks

So, quick question. When riding Splash or Space Mountain. Say hubby and our oldest go ride, I can do something else with the toddler, and he just says me and the oldest will be coming back through?

Hi! Love your videos! Though I am not a mom, I am definitely a Disney nerd (as you often say). So with your situation with space mountain, when it basically gave you a free pass to any other ride, it classifies that as a *redemption pass*, which happens when a ride is down. That means you can redeem it for another ride. But to issue that pass, the Genie+ system had to cancel your selection for Space Mountain. Since you were still waiting out the 120 minute rule for Space Mountain when it got cancelled, you got to immediately rebook a new lightening lane, which is how you can get to ride on 2 rides! Hope that makes sense/is helpful!!

Using Early Entry and arriving early is our go to for saving some money. If you want to purchase the Individual Lightning Lanes for those then I would have someone in your travel party book those while you book the Genie+ selection.

My family is doing 2 parks, parents are doing 1 park. They want to go on the rides with us. Do I have to buy their park tickets with ours so they can get the same lightening lane times? Thank you!

You don't have to purchase their park tickets at the same time but they will need a My Disney Experience Account that the ticket is attached too as well as be added to your friends and family in the app so you can book your LL's at the same time. Hope that makes sense!

Yes, you can purchase Genie+ and it will work all day. If not purchased you just use the standby lines. When you know how to use it it's very helpful! Yes, you are correct! After that it’s every 120 minutes or once you can into the ride. You MDE app will tell you when you can book another selection.

Yes, it’s so helpful to skip the line. Everyone that is 3+ will need to purchase it if you intend for them to use it.

The only bad things is your phone gonna die faster & you not going to enjoy the full experience because you gonna be busy booking the rides but it’s worth it in the summer 1 hour each line for every ride

No, everyone can access Genie+ at midnight. Honestly unless you are just up that late it isn’t necessary to wake up at midnight to purchase.

That’s definitely tough! When we were there last week if you didn’t grab Mickey & Minnie as your first pick it was gone shortly after 9am.

This is one of our struggles right now, too! Prioritization is HARD, lol. I think we’re going to prioritize Mickey and Minnie m&g because it may be our last time going before the 50th is over and we want to get photos with them in their 50th outfits. I can always ride the rides again, but I’ll personally be disappointed if I don’t get those 50th photos in lol. Have fun on your trip!

Hi! So you mentioned if your child is under 3 they don’t need a lightning lane if the ride doesn’t have a height requirement. What happens if it does have a height reqt but your under 3 child is tall enough to ride? Can they ride with you with your lightning lane reservation?

If your child isn't tall enough for the attraction they won't be allowed in the queue or on the ride. This is where rider switch would come into play if you aren't traveling alone with your child.
