Thank you for the pre heating advice, i tried it and even now bought the heated tubing, but the air is still cool . I've had to tell my mum to cope with the temperature of the air as there seems to be not much choice. This is a useful forum i used the video to teach the technician how to get to the menu and options. Thank you for the support

In my experience, most people (95%) benefit greatly from the "regular" ResMed Climate Line Tubing.(The other type of tubing is - Climate Line MAX) . Both promotes better humidification without losing humidity throughout the entire length of your CPAP tubing. (reduce incidents of condensation) If you keep your room on the cooler side (less then 70 degrees) especially during the winter months you really can benefit from this tubing. Unfortunately a lot of insurance do require a prescription.

Wash your water tub in warm water, using a mild detergent daily. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow them to dry away from direct sunlight. Monthly - Clean white powder or deposits in the water tub by using a solution of one part household vinegar to ten parts water. ***H5i Cleanable Water Tub only - The disassembled tub lid, plate & base may also be washed in a dishwasher on the “Delicate” or “Glassware Cycle - place it on the Top Shelf only. Hope this helps

Thank you for your awesome videos, they were super helpful! I wish you were my doctor! :) The Resmed S9 autoset along with the H5i humidifier have been a Godsend for me. Not only has it helped in my getting a better night's sleep, but there was an extra added benefit I wasn't expecting. I take Trazodone at night before bedtime and would constantly wake up with my mouth dry as the desert in the middle of the night. Now that I'm on this machine this no longer occurs. Not only does the humidity from this machine help, but I think the ever so slight pressure from the Swift FX Nasal Pillow mask on my upper lip keeps my mouth from being open sometimes as I sleep and further drying it out also.

I am so glad that the videos could help you. Thank you for taking the time & effort to let me know. Just for the benefit of others reading this comment…..many psychiatric medications has dryness as one of its side effects. So that puts many sleep apnea sufferers predisposed to dryness.

I have the Res Med H5i Autoset S9. Is there a certain Climate Line I need to get as well? The supplier told me I need a RX for one. The doctor said it made no difference..

in about 3:00 you mention the watercontainer. And i did get the one with the clips so it is detachable. I geuss i dont have to clean that one after a week i just can get it apart and rinse it with water and soap and i am done is geuss. Unlike the otherone you have to fill with hot water and naturalvinegar in the morning and it clean in the evening i guess

The pressure makes my ears ACHE!!! What can I do to make that go away?
@cpaphelpdesk

+Nanci Hanover If you are using nasal pillows- consider changing to a Full Face Mask. If you are currrently experiencing severe sinus infection..talk to your doctor first and some of them will advice to treat the sinus infection first and then get back to using CPAP. If no infection...ask the doctor to lower the CPAP pressure until you become acclimated to using a CPAP. Then bump the settings back up after you become adjusted to using your CPAP. Please dont give up.

+cpaphelpdesk I use a face mask. I have no sinus infection at all. When the pressure begins to ramp up, my ears ACHE. My doctor doesn't do the adjustment. There is a company that does it and it's like pulling teeth to get anything done by them. It will take weeks, if I am lucky. Any other suggestions?

+Nanci Hanover Unfortunately I don't have any advice that is pleasing. The doctor is the only one who can prescribe a lower pressure. The average physician does not know how to enter the clinical mode and lower the settings. This is typically done by the medical equipment company. If the company is local, i would just make an appointment and drive up to their office and have them manually change the settings. Make sure they or you have a copy of the prescription. Otherwise it might be a wasted trip for you. If they don't have the prescription, all medical equipment company will not change the settings. They have to be in compliant with the prescription. These are FDA rules. Even though it is not recommended, many people on their own have researched online ( forums) on how to change settings themselves. The bigger issue is why is your ears hurting? This is not a common symptom for majority of the people who find the CPAP settings to high. It should be investigated by your sleep physician. It could be nothing ... however in our experience this is not a common complaint we come across.

+James McCall You can 2 things: a) Call Resmed customer service at 1 (800) 424-0737 and they can answer that question for you more accurately. b) Call the home medical equipment company that gave you the CPAP and they can verify if the unit is working properly.

Hi My name is Bree I recieved my machine yesterday and tried using it for the first time lastnight. It was not the most uncomfortable sleep I have ever tried to get. It felt as though I was suffocating and i went into a coughing fit, and the machine seemed to be pushing air in through my nose and mouth as I was choking I snatched the masked off scared my wife's service dog half to death . I had to keep getting up to go to the bathroom, and I only go once at night . I am just curious does that mean that the nasal mask is to small?

What you are experiencing is very normal. The mask size may not be the issue….. you may need a full face mask. But more than likely you just need to be desensitized to your CPAP setting. Not to come across like a sales pitch but your problem is multi dimensional. I have a video guide cpap.kajabi.com/sp/25097-my-best-sleep-ever-with-my-cpap …. that will help you. In the meantime reach out to your medical equipment company that gave you the machine and have them help you. Please don't give up.

I have just started using my humidifier and found it making a knocking noise and the pipe contained water. Any ideas?

It is condensation. Totally empty out the water from the tubing and make it dry. Condensation typically occurs when your bedroom temperature is colder than the temperature inside your CPAP tubing. You either : a) Match the temperature of bedroom and your heated humidifier or as close as you can get. b)or……use a Climate Line Tubing with your ResMed CPAP. This tubing has heated wires embedded inside the tubing which will significantly reduce condensation.
