My 6 months of coding knowledge and understanding in 1 hr 15 minutes. To those people who had trouble understanding hashcode, equals, comparator, comparable: just keep trying, you will understand it. Comparator is really important because sometimes to solve a Q, you need to sort the input data in a particular way, which can be easily done with the help of comparator.

Also a note to everyone, please watch this before you start leetcoding. Jaise khaana banane se pehle kaunse bartan use karne hain pata hona chhaie, waise hi coding ke liye java collections framework ka accha idea ho toh coding main maza aata hai. It helps to figure out what to use and how efficiently.

1:15:00 What is lambda?? Lambda Expressions were added in Java 8. A lambda expression is a short block of code which takes in parameters and returns a value. Lambda expressions are similar to methods, but they do not need a name and they can be implemented right in the body of a method. lamda expression can be single as well as multiple: single:parameter -> codeblock Multiple:(parameter1, parameter2) -> { code block }

Just to update : There has been a change internal working of arrayList (Till java 6) newCapacity = (oldCapacity * 3/2)+1 = 16 (java 7 or later) newCapacity = oldCapacity + (oldCapacity >> 1) = 15 Default Capacity * Load Factor = Threshold (10* 0.75 = 7) The number of buckets will automatically get increased when the table has 7 elements in it. ArrayList which is 50% more than the old capacity

ArrayList growth doesnt happen by adding [current_size/2] + 1 in the internal array. It is done by adding max(sizeOfElementsBeingAdded, current_size*2). Please see ensureCapacity() method of the ArrayList class. Thanks!
