We looked at the files on the SD card to see if it had audio for the lift voice. The sd card just contains settings so that if there are multiple lifts, the same settings can be loaded onto both lifts.

In this video I am taking the piss out of a terrible lift modernization. The 2 lifts used to run as a set (one call button controls both lifts) and had ILE logic controller, which is a very simplistic, but reliable lift controller that is easy to maintain, and is one of the most well known, so easy for engineers to maintain. These lifts got converted into an utter bodge job that is so bad that it is laughable. The logic controllers got replaced. The 2 lifts now have different logic controllers, so can't work as a set anymore. Both logic controllers are terrible and very hard to use and understand. Cheap Italian Chinese rubbish. Most engineers also wont have seen these before, making the lifts much harder to maintain. Also a lot of the lift set up makes the modernization look like a rushed half hearted job by the engineers. The new logic controllers are the worst sort of electronic design that some inexperience designer would come up with. Like someone that knows how to program electronics but has no idea or experience on how lifts actually operate. To someone that has just done a university degree it may think that it is perfectly fine to use some off the shelf electronic components to build something that operates a lift. But in reality, the 130 years of history of lifts has led to well made designs using specific components to operate a lift. And while some Chinese microcontroller could be made to operate a lift, it will be complete crap. The lift wont land at a floor in a nice way. And the system would not be intuitive for fault finding, and engineers that have to work on the system wont understand how to use it. In this video we could not stop laughing at how bad these lifts were.
