Complete Steel Building In Less Than 10 Hours?! | Modular Metal Building

In this video, I use our Tadano 180g-5 to assemble a modular metal building. I have never seen a building that is assembled quite like this one. It was almost complete in 10 hours. The crane was configured with full span outriggers and 110,000 pounds of counterweight.

They just put together a modular 4 story office building 2 blocks from me, 2 weeks from finish of foundation to complete. Wall panels had all wiring and plumbing, windows went in separate, so the only truly surprising thing for me with this steel building is the speed.

THAT WAS COOL!!! Omg I love how fast the unit went together.. a million bolts but it make sense that it would be more rigid than a stuck built one .. but I'm curious what seals the roof water tight.. must be a small ridge cap possibly. . i operate a grove gmk 220 here in norway and ive noticed that it seems like america usually have boom trucks and such. is there a reason for that? here in norway atleast we usualy have allterrain cranes like theese

I don’t know about weather bug, but I use an app called MyRadar that sends push notifications for lightning in the area. It works pretty well. I even get tornado warnings with it before the sirens go off.

@To The Top Crane: I use Weatherbug, MyRadar, and NOAA Weather Radar Live in conjunction. I pay for subscriptions with NOAA and MyRadar but well worth it. I think the free ones just have ads. Most of the time I get notifications from the apps within a few seconds of one another, but there are times I get a notice from one and the others will miss it for a few minutes. Working in an industry where weather changes and lighting are big issues, having that redundancy built-in is very much worth it.

They can also come pre insulated and interior cladded if you would like. I'm surprised they weld them down though.

I'll have to drive by and have a look at this building! That was pretty neat how it goes together. Look like just bolt and weld together and plug it in. Were you part of the crane crew that pulled out the tree out of Lake Contrary? Just looking at the pictures in the paper it looked like a job for the Tedano! What did they do for the end walls? That sure went up fast. Pretty small crew, too. With so little labor costs, it could be a pretty expensive building and still come out ahead when all is said and done.

It had a membrane roof. So, I think they had rolls of membrane to cover the joints on the roof. I think there is trim for the joints on the exterior walls. Many thanks for watching! 🙂🏗

Depends on the manufacturer. Some have steel roofs it would be is a ridge cap. (Would have to look at my manual to see what the factory called them.) These ones here with the EPDM membrane would have a slight angle going to the centre of each section and all they would do is glue and terminate the ends of the EPDM membrane.

On single membrane roofs, we utilize EPDM, TPO, and PVC. Each has its own proprietary seaming methodology. It can be as simple as a self bridging self-adhering product or up to full weld. It depends also on the level of manufacturer warranty desired. We also do steel roofing and modified bitumen , again per customer specifications. Nice. We have erecting pre engineered building s for 30 years. 100× 200 airplane hangers etc. IPS panels. We used Lulls alot. This is a nice idea. Check out "Blu homes" similar idea.

Yep, that’s a new system to me. Specialized systems like that usually involve travelers to do the erection. It just works best to have people that have done it before, involved. Definitely looked like the older, goatee guy, in the green shirt was the crew leader.

I'm guessing by the vehicles parked around the site that this will be a regional UPS depot and the large openings are the doors where the delivery trucks will back up to the sorting converters. This is a slick construction system. Brown Santa must be very profitable with online shopping and delivery.
