Oceansize sound like a different band from one album to the next and sometimes multiple times in an album. They are amazing and so underrated. They are prog more than anything but have so any other genres thrown in. This song does not represent them in the slightest. They are also from my home town but I’m not being biased I promise. Also Amplifier is another band you should check out. Also from Manchester - England and their is a cross over between Oceansize and Amplifer.

This song is great, but they have so many songs that are GOAT material and this one doesn’t even begin to measure up. I’d love to see you do Massive Bereavement, Catalyst, Charm Offensive, Music for a Nurse, Ornament, Commemorative T-Shirt, Unfamiliar, or Trail of Fire. Some of the greatest music ever written imo.

Trail of Fire 100% Has to be my favorite song of their entire catalogue and one of my favorite songs I've ever heard by anyone.

There is no end to the greatest Oceansize songs, for sure. I feel blessed to have all of their material, and am connected deeply to all of it. Over time, I just came to love that they left what they behind.

Hell yeah! One of my favourites. Glad you enjoyed so much. You might be pleased to know that this isn't an outlier in their catalogue. A lot of their stuff has a lot of weird time stuff going on that is propelled by the drumming. Mark Heron is definitely one of the most underrated drummers in modern prog imo. I'll have to submit an Oceansize special selection if you're eager to hear more!

Soooo glad to have found your channel while searching and wondering if anyone ever reacted to some oceansize. I really enjoy your unfiltered take on music and what you‘re doing here, especially shedding some light on not well known Bands like Snooze or TTNG. But for the sake of my enjoyment please give Oceansize another go with: Trail of Fire, The Charm Offensive, Catalyst or Ornaments / The Last wrongs And for the sake of your enjoyment give their LP ‚Frames‘ a listen from A to Z. Words can‘t describe what special place this holds for me as a music listener, and i think this accounts for anyone who encoutered Oceansize at one point.

This is my favorite band of all time thank you Brian for commenting Oceansize! Mark Heron is a beast and very underrated drummer. And as many have said, this song sound a little grunge in the Oceansize catalogue and is a bit different fron the rest. Still a perfect album.

Mark Heron is also the sole reason Oceansize no longer exists. Absolutely amazing drummer, but a spectacular fuck-up as well.

Oceansize is probably my favorite band ever. My husband always found the best music and told me he knew I would love them. He played me this this song and I was hooked. I’m floored more people didn’t know about them. Feed to Feed is an incredible DVD. You should check it out if you haven’t yet. Thanks for covering them. My favorite song is Build Us a Rocket Then…

Oceansize is one of my all time favorite bands. Speaking of criminally underrated. Wait until you hear more of Mark Heron's drumming. In general, he very accomplished. This is certainly a great tune, but go deep with Oceansize and I bet you find much gold. Thanks!

Also, anyone who likes this band needs to check out the singer's band Vennart, they're just as good, in fact the majority of them are ex-Size.

Interesting.Sounds a little like Faith No More, but with more constrained vocals. They are part of Cardiacs family which makes me want to investigate more as I love Cardiacs but have never listened to Oceansize properly.

Was thinking all along the listening: If Bryan doesn't enjoy this I've got a really bad understanding as to what he enjoys.... Wondeful song that I don't think Ive heard before although Oceansize wasn't all new to me. Will certainly dig into them more. Always extra enjoyable to hear you analyse a track that overwhelmed you!

Many seem to forget that this track was to represent not only the band but their "alt rock" vein.

Neat track. Though it definitely has a strong alternative rock vibe ca. late-90s/early-00s it also has elements that are more... progressive? I guess you'd call it, especailly in the rhythm. In a way it reminds me of a more understated Muse. Not sure if it blew me away quite as much as you did, but there are definitely some interesting elements here.

Haven't watched the video yet but before hand I would wanna say that this is an odd choice. Not really a standout song for this band. Here are a few songs you should check out for yourself, because they really are a special band: The Charm Offensive Music For a Nurse (just beyond beautiful - postrock shoegaze stuffy) And my personal favorite , commemorative t-shirt , because it was my introduction track to them
