I figured since I did a video for the raw camera filter process of editing your photos in Photoshop, I may as well do a render passes one as well. This is not my preferred method however I did learn a few cool things!
I am not a Photoshop pro in anyway so if it seems like I do things in strange ways, I am sorry in advance!
The website for our business can be found at luminouslabs.ca/ , if there are any broken links or any other oddities, we apologize as we are currently in the process of upgrading and rearranging our site, however we have tried to avoid any issues as best as we can. We will be updating it with much better photos soon.

That depth of field pass trick makes senses. I’ll have to look deeper into that cuz I see people using the Overlay method and never really clicked with me. Thanks for the tip! Great video 🎉

When i render interiors, i like to use the specular and the lighting map as it makes the lighting and the reflection more pronounced. The main renders usually comes out flat and i used these two maps to add depth but instead of putting it on overlay, i put both lighting and specular on soft light. Leave the lightings transparency and fill on 100% and the speculars on 50% on both maps

Thanks Chris! It was pretty interesting to learn. What is nice about it is a lot of these tricks apply to all render engines, not just Lumion.

The Bump Normal Render Element is useful for changing the appearance of lighting in a scene in a composite without the need for re-rendering. In the example below a lighting workflow is used at a composite level to change the lighting in the scene. Note that it does not create any extra shadowing. While the Bump Normal Render Element provides information about how lights affect each surface; the Point Position element passes the spatial location of each pixel. When used together it allows lights added in composite to react on the pixels as if they were the surface of the model.

I found the normal map to be mind blowing! Even though it doesn't create shadows just the ability to tweak the lighting is so powerful.

This is maybe a stupid question but how did you made those color maps? (Specular, lightning…)

Not a problem at all friend! If you follow this link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hJ6UldpmmdbTlmw.html you can see right away the blocks with the letters in them. The "additional output" is the extra maps you are looking for. Sorry for the late reponse!

When you hit render in Lumion you should see a bunch of little squares with letters in it. By clicking these you can tell Lumion to make render passes. They are called either render elements or render passes

Lumion's render passes can be helpful but I find they are still lacking in a few areas. For sky replacement I actually use the Sky Replacement feature built-in to photoshop since it color grades the rest of the photos.

Thanks for checking out the video Hekuran! I actually want to try to do that shortly. While I have a lot of tutorials for tricks I haven't had a chance to just do interior or exterior scenes so I want to get a few of those done.

@@sharonrairai5479 I taught myself how to do it, I was a bit unsure at the time about a few things but it is correct. I don't think there are any other tutorials showing how to use Lumion's normal map or depth map render pass. If this is something you are interested in the tutorial should be enough to get you using all of the maps, from there it is up to you! I appreciate you checking out the video, let me know if there is anything I can help you with
