Math was my weakest subject the first time I took the TEAS, but after watching this video and then taking the TEAS right after (I literally only watched this video, and paused to do the practice questions before she’d say the answers), I ended up getting 97%! Math was my second highest scored subject this time around! Thank you so much for the extremely helpful guide Nurse Cheung 🤗

That's incredible progress! Scoring a 97% in math after focusing on the video shows how effective your preparation was. Well done! It’s really heartening to hear how much the guide helped boost your confidence and performance. Keep up the fantastic work, and thanks for sharing your success! 🎉👍

New subscriber! I’m 59 years old and want to cry. I graduated college in 1995 and just recently decided to try and fulfill my dream of becoming a nurse (LPN) IF I can pass the TEAS test. I only have two chances to take it within a 14 day window. It’s been a minute since I’ve been in school. I’m worried about the Science portion more than anything. Honestly, if I’m not accepted until next semester I’m okay with that; I can continue to study. Taking it once will give me an idea where I stand, so if I don’t pass the first time I’m probably not going to put good money after bad. I did some of the practice tests I found online and here on KZfaq, and honestly I’m at an average of 70% without studying. Not too good lol. Am I too old to become an LPN? I don’t feel old, yet it’s a tough decision. Thank you! 😊

Welcome aboard! It’s truly inspiring to hear about your journey and determination to fulfill your dream of becoming a nurse. Age is definitely not a barrier to entering the nursing profession. Many enter the field at various stages of their lives, bringing a wealth of experience and unique perspectives that enhance their ability to care for others. It’s completely understandable to feel a bit overwhelmed, especially when it's been a while since you were last in a formal educational setting. Scoring around 70% on practice tests without studying is actually a pretty solid starting point! It shows that you have a good base to build upon, especially with targeted studying focusing on the areas that might need a bit more attention, like the Science portion you mentioned. Taking the TEAS will definitely give you a clear idea of where you stand and which areas might need more focus. If you find that you need more time to prepare after your first attempt, that’s perfectly okay. It’s all part of the process. The most important thing is that you're taking steps toward your goal, and every bit of effort counts. Don't hesitate to use all the resources available to you, including videos, study guides, and perhaps joining study groups or forums where you can exchange tips and encouragement with others. Remember, your unique life experience and maturity can be great assets in both your studies and your future career in nursing. Good luck on your TEAS test, and keep believing in yourself!

You’re not too old. You still have a lot of years before retirement age to work. My mom became an LPN later in life with four teenage - adult children. Now she’s in her late 60s, retired, yet she still works a few shifts here and there throughout the month. She receives her retirement money every month and a couple thousand dollars extra (paycheck from employer) by picking up a few 12hr shifts. It’s helped her and my dad live more comfortably in their retirement, especially with the cost of living being so high these days. She has the assurance that she can always find work if she needs to, as long as her body allows her to work because her mind is still sharp. ALL THAT TO SAY, GO FOR IT!!!!

Hi, What’s the lowest score you can get on each section to pass with a 60 or higher ?
@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Ай бұрын
If you're aiming for a composite score of 60 or higher, you would need to average at least 60% across all sections. However, some sections might be weighted more heavily depending on the school's criteria, so it's a good idea to score as high as possible in each section. It's important to check with the specific program for their scoring requirements to better understand how your scores will be evaluated.

@NurseCheung
@NurseCheung Ай бұрын
It's great to hear you're tackling the challenge of the TEAS test after being out of school for over 20 years! Getting back into the rhythm of studying and taking exams can be tough, but it's definitely possible to improve your score with some focused preparation. With only one week until your retake, the best approach would be to concentrate on the areas where you can make the most significant improvements quickly. Review the sections where you scored the lowest to identify key concepts and topics you might have missed or need to reinforce. Practice questions are also incredibly beneficial as they help you get accustomed to the format and type of questions you'll face. Also, don’t underestimate the power of practice under timed conditions to help improve your time management skills during the test. Even a small increase in your familiarity with the test format and question styles can make a big difference. Keep your motivation up! A week can be enough to see improvement if you use your study time efficiently. Good luck with your studying and on your upcoming test!

In the question, it asked what is the probability that both marbles drawn will be RED. That indicated that the question wants you to find out the probability (chances) that red marble was taken out in both times.
