Yeah I'm not to sad about the nerf though. M1 was way to easy, you just crystal of doom everything and it was game over. At least in M2 you have to think about what you're going to do which is nice. There's no one spell that wins. Although my little arcane rock fire bombs work on ALMOST everything... But it's more dangerous than the M1 nuke.

As much as it was fun destroying everything with crystals of doom, or chucking swarms of enemies into the air with ARSE mines, I do understand that nerf for these was needed. Especially after putting these spells on a macro xD By the way, seriously, it seems after Magicka 1 the devs were always trying some weird sheit with the magic system... Magicka: Wizard Wars only has 3 elements in spellbar, no ice/steam, only 2 cast methods Wizards of the Square Tablet - *NO ARCANE?* WTF! Also, like above, no steam/ice and only 4 elements max. Magicka 2 - Back to 5 elements and still no ice/steam, but thankfully, devs eventually realized it's a stupid idea and brought them back, along with poison. Personally, I can't help but feel that out of all these options, M2 in its current form has the best system. It does nerf all the stupidly overpowered spells from M1 and keeps it fun, without taking away any complexity. It seems most faithful to the original game, while slapping some improvements on top, like improved immunity ward mechanics or weapon enchants (with the idea of some elements making the enchant one-shot, and others permanently boosting the weapon until it wears off). But it doesn't help that the game's combat system overall is a disaster. Seriously, it's garbage - it's way too fast. Whereas M1's combat reminded me of a puzzle game in a sense, M2 is so fast that there's no point in being creative - just backpedal as fast as you can and mow them down with arcane beams, because you have no other option. A bloody goblin on a first level runs at me with speed of a berserker orc from the first game and shanks me even faster. A friggin ORC can kill me IN ONE HIT. A beastman kills me in one hit THROUGH ROCK ARMOR.

Yes! This is really important in single player. Whenever you die you always have enough time of invincibility to revive your fairy if you are quick enough. In this way it's technically not possible to die in single player... The only exception to this is if you get knocked (water or other knockback effects) into a hole as you spawn. But you have to be pretty unlucky! It happened to me in my 'Bananas isn't good enough vid'!!

Hi there, I hope some of these walk throughs help you then! The crystals (there are both an AOE one and a directional) are considered magiks, like your haste or teleport etc. This means that you need to find them in game before you can use them. The crystals (otherwise known as prisms) are only received by completing certain arena quests. I can't for the life of me remember which ones. These are the challenges that are not part of the story line. In game I'd only recommend using the prisms in single player, and normally one for a defensive action or to cast a nova as I do in the tute here. In multiplayer just get your mate to cast the opposite beam for you ;)

So it kinda makes sense lore wise that they show her with abilities that we can't use. Would be sick if we could though! Just... a tad more complicated haha

Great one for multiplayer is to use one of those beams each and just strafe :) In single player it's faster to just use the beam. Although check out my "Bananas is too easy" run and you'll see me using that combo. Although I use the Thunderstorm magic to get them wet, then the icy wind magic to freeze them and a solid meteor (only rock) to finish them :) the magics do more damage and are faster to cast with the quick cast option.

Well, this is possible for single player as well, if you have patience and are dealing with few foes.

Nevermind, finally found it. They're called 'Prisms' and are unlocked by doing Trial #2.

Yeah, so what you are referring to is the Magiks, this vid only covers player made spells. All the magiks are accessible from the quick cast bar and it will tell you how to cast them. There's a whole bunch and they're all super powerful!

True that :) but I didn't mention a whole BUNCH of extra stuff that you can do, I really only covered the basic spells. Foor instance if you watch my Chapter 4 (?) walkthrough you'll see that you can also destroy rock/ice based shields by casting mines over them which makes a massive aoe. But again, not really part of this vid :)

As far as I know yes, but only if they are thrown a long way and it's not very much damage. Although in levels with a cliff it is certainly effective to just knock enemies off it, especially bigger ones! I wouldn't recommend using knock back and your main method of damage though. Might be a fun challenge run!

It is the prism magik. can only be cast from the quick cast bar and is obtained (I believe) from completing Challenge 2 or 3 on bananas... Possibly... Please let me know if you find out.

I could... or. I could just use the computer version ;) I just mention that because it might be different on console, all other information is the same, just flicking between elements to cast them is a little slower (as I understand it)

well you're either missclicking or glitching the game. You're only going to get ice from frost and water. so you might get water and ice by hitting water-water-frost? but if you're hitting fire and water then you'll never get ice...

The AOE is very broken! But you may be better off with Steam elec and death for larger enemies ;)

I do that in the vid eh (11:32). Arcane + lightning forms a beam, not the lightning tendrils you get when using the lightning as a base...

Walk... Backwards? I use a mouse, but if you click and hold and then move the mouse slowly backwards your guy won't turn around. I'm assuming that's what you mean?

+Eiidjrk Udjdj Hmmm the only thing I can think of is that you have not updated your game for a while? Try going into online mode and making sure you're up to date. Otherwise.. Contact Paradox trouble shooting I guess. I got nothing :P

+Kadir Ali there's plenty of different combinations that work well. Nova is a big one, combining contrary beams to double the effects is another. And other general spell combinations that work well together. Try A fire rock arcane wall followed by fore arcane mines ;)

+TrainingMacro That is a directional prism./ It is kind of like a magik (but you can only cast it from the quick cast bar). You unlock it by completing one of the Challenges (I can't remember which one off the top of my head. Will have a look for you)

Yeah sorry about that. They use both words here and there. Death makes more sense in this game. But arcane used to be used before the poison element existed. They're the same thing :)

+Glenn Kievit Try, instead, Steam + Steam + Steam + Arcane + Lightning. It's an old favorite from Magicka 1 which we affectionately called the "Super Super Steam Lightning Beam!" It consistently did 5,000+ damage per casting and causes slain enemies to explode, weakening more enemies. Also gets foes wet, immediately capitalizes with lightning damage, and lasts a long while. The AoE variant, the "Supernova," is Steam + Lightning + Arcane + Arcane + Arcane, which, also in 1, would vaporize all goblins within half a mile of you, and is a 2-hit KO on deep ones. In both instances, make the steam first! Water + Arcane = Poison now!

Glenn Kievit You're welcome! The spell is just... the Beam was, quite frankly, disgusting. Getting the first shot against a horde of lightweight enemies like goblins spelt death to the entire group, no questions asked. Also of note is the Blizzard Ball. Stone + Ice + Ice + Ice + Ice It would do over 10,000 damage when fully charged. I would snipe trolls with it! ...Wasn't nearly as good as the beam against shoggoths, though...

+Red Dragon Yeah nice spells :) if you watch my walkthrough I use the aoe a lot! Technically you will get more damage from a single steam and a bunch of lightning, and with the intro of poison you get even more utility. As far as I'm aware the most damaging single target spell in the game currently is the Steam + Poison + Arcane + Elec + Fire beam, but I find that hard to cast so I normally sub another elec for the fire. Enemies will always explode from a beam IF the last damage proc is the arcane. If it's the steam of elec that kills them then there won't be an explosion. So if you're going for explosions use single steam and elec and 3 arcanes ;)

+Red Dragon Ice meteor doesn't work anymore unfortunately, with the update combining rock and ice gives you the shards now. Many sad faces

I mean... maybe watch the whole thing before critisizing ;) But yes, this is only single player combos, as I mention in it. There are no multiplayer spells as such, just interactions. But you can get the same interactions on your own if you're fast enough.

Yeah so those are 'magiks' rather than spells. Unlockable and can be set to the quick cast. I didn't cover the magiks because it would add an extra 20-30 min on. would you like to see an episode on that? I find them pretty self explanatory. hit a button and off they go :) actual casting is a bit more complex

That's what poison is. If the arcane and the water aren't combining in your spell bar then you probably need to make sure the game is up to date.

@@MottySha K, didn't catch you saying Life & poisen don't mix & combos of putting shield on sword. Just mentioned it cuz this is supposed to be EVERY spell you can use in the entire game that isn't a special. When I say special I mean like revive, haste, lightning bolt abuse a scroll, etc.

@@bradthomas7933 no stress, the poisen life thing is at the start (5:00). And using the sword is more of a cast type, I also didn't really mention the static beam and aoe magic casting methods. But same deal, same spell effect different cast type :P

Death and Arcane are the same element, they seem to use the names interchangeably. I tend to say death because life nullifies it, so that makes sense to me. If you're asking about keybindings... Well... check your key bindings in the options menu :)

Zelulu of course! Just make sure you don't tick 'offline' and then invite them to the game. 4 player max, only co-op. But you can turn it into a vs petty easily if you want.

Not as much as the old QRQRASE spell from Magicka 1. The Ice Rock projectile is good, but you DO have to aim it. I prefer the beam spells because of the chance of an arcane kill (that triggers the explosion death).

Also I assume you're talking Magicka 1? The Ice rock combo doesn't really work in M2. You get the shards instead. It's good, but super low damage

Very easily, cause all your keys are pointlessly stupid, and they streamlined it all down for Consoles to do the exact same thing with just the push of a few buttons.

@@Jirodyne they aren't pointless, they are attacks and buffs, so you must be getting macros or something to make it easy like how console FPS games all have aim-assistance. It is a well known fact that a keyboard player can wipe the floor against a console player in FPS and RTS. There was a game in the making once that cross-platform had PC players against consoles and they abandoned it after tests revealed the PC players totally dominated.
