Levi you’ve done it mate. You pulled it off. I can’t believe the size of the nuggets you guys were pulling. The best part is your not selfish. You could of worked that all out on ur own somehow but you’d rather share the wealth with a good friend. Just awesome.

While true, I will tell you from experience, there are more instances than not where you NEED a partner. Safety issues are probably the most responsible reason, but help getting equipment in is probably the biggest reason. Also, it is always better with two thinkers. One time, every day by myself for a week, I hauled a 6 inch dredge and various camping supplies into a very remote area, in doing so, every day I wished someone was helping me.. before I started dredging I asked a friend to join me, It is so much nicer when running a 6 in a smaller sized waterway, to have a tender, someone to help with a plug in the hose, tailing piles, box packing up, etc... plus conversation..... After I took him to the site, about a 5 hr hike if your packed light.... we were standing there shootin the bull, and he pipes up with, "my dad has a helicopter"..... all I could do was look at him, I was dumbfounded!!! LMAO!!! Guess how I got all that equipment out? It was well worth sharing the gold, even pops got a cut to help out on AV gas!!! Besides that, I can tell you this, It is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to keep your own mouth shut if you make a rich discovery!!! Its good to have someone watchin your back as you are diving, puts your mind at ease.... once while dredging, I had an overwhelming feeling I was being watched, or I'm not alone.... I slowly popped my head up outta the water, and there was a huge mountain lion on the bank just checking me out...looking eye to eye about 10 ft. away!!!! It's hard to describe that feeling!!!! I threw a rock and it was gone, but.... yikes... So, best to have a good buddy on yer six!!! blessings and peace, OUT...

Great adventure thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

*Tip - I snipe remote, deep water too. I use an old pair of jogging pants to fill with sand/gravel to use as a weight belt. Zip tie the waist and tie off the legs in front of you. It takes up hardly space in my pack and you don't have to hike in the extra awkward weight.

I’m so envious of your experiences even though I spent 25 years doing similar work. I picked wild mushrooms for a living in the western U.S. and I did manage to do a fair amount of gold prospecting but not nearly as much as I wanted to. There simply isn’t enough time in one life to do it all. Cheers and thanks for allowing me to experience this through you.

Such an interesting air compressor setup. It's too bad it struggles to keep up. I'd love more details on how well or not the solar setup kept up with recharging and how much total time under water you were able to achieve. Great video as always, been watching a long time and never seen you hit it quite as good as at this spot! Great job!

There's a trade off, you need a large enough compressor of enough wattage to push a high enough pressure through your lines. That of course drains the batteries faster, lead acid are cheap but degrade fast if drained more than 20-25%. Lithium hold more charge and can be discharged 80%, but must be maintained as well if they drop below 3v. for very long a chem reaction ruins them. Run times can vary from 45-60 min under heavy use, 60-90min under light use. Yours may vary as there are many variables. Also the longer you hose the more the pressure drop and less air supplied. These little portable units shouldn't be pushed much beyond 6-12 feet. They'll start to struggle.
@dananorth895
@dananorth895 Жыл бұрын
P.S. Solar is notoriously finicky. You really need bright, summer midish day sun to get max power for 4-5 hrs. Bare minimum 200 watts, preferably 3-400 watts basic charging in summer, thats for camping! Side seasons spring/fall double the panels. Winter season double them again and hope you don't get too many cloudy days. For home double everything again. Batteries will kill you price wise. A small gasoline gen charger is still heavy but more reliable in the end, or a buttload of litium battery packs.

I've been sniping for gold in California and like you we have found the better gold in deeper water. In one of your videos you use your pack filled with rocks but found difficult to manage the weight on your back. Just a suggestion but put your pack on backwards on your chest and it becomes much eaiser. I use a supplied air system compressor and generator. It's more bulky but it lasts for many hours. I also have 50 feet of hose but I don't dive to that depth. Anyway I'm enjoying your videos! Very nice finds!

That deposit seems to be potentially two things, not just a drop zone but potentially a vein deposit as well as a drop zone. The reason the gold is so plentiful and the bedrock so decomposed is there was Lilly a gravel bar there that was deposited and the later removed during subsequent high water events. What you found there is super rare and usually has a very specific set of circumstances that resulted in the deposition. Very fascinating and awesome to see some other diggers doing well! Congrats you guys! Also, it pains me to see you not break up that super fragmented bedrock. During high water events, those little cracks open and close as rocks tumble over them. This allows gold to filter deep down into those cracks. I realize it’s hard to do that when there is such abundant and obvious gold on the surface. Just keep that in mind for maybe a return adventure to this spot.
