@@Fab_CS test was hard. I watched professor Messer videos, did a bunch of practice questions on KZfaq and ones I could find on Google. Mostly scenario based question. Very few definitions questions

Great info, I failed my Sec + test by 1-2 questions. I did very well on questions 6-80 but man did I have difficulties with the PBQ. Three of the 5 required deciphering logs..one I had to determine which server was being attacked, then identify the type of threat, and the remediation. Now ../../ is easy of course but the others had my head spinning. Question format its easy to determine all of this however, seeing the logs made me start doubting my answers which had a cascading affect on everything else. I believe the other stumper was SIEM management (6 different types of logs) had to identify malicious logs and provide a remediation. Just wanted to put this out there that even though you may feel extremely confident about being able to define a threat, I would highly recommend copying and pasting a log output example of those threat types to study as well. Thank you for the post. What was your score? I’ve previously failed as well and you really nailed it in terms of reading logs and being able to produce the correct solution.

would you be able to make a list of the PBQ's in a pull down list explaining how to complete them? I can't find the one im looking for and I really struggle with the PBQs im looking at 09C

why do you have rule 4 as an explicit deny going to the other server on the secure network if the Admin workstation needs to go to both?

Whats the site did you get the simulation from i know there is a specific comptia site that had all the simulations like how your showing it. and there where question along with them.

Can you presume a default drop rule at the end or do you need to make it explicit. My training told me to always put an explicit drop rule at the end even though CheckPoint had an implicit drop.

Would you explain better the rule 3 and 4? I don't understand why one is PERMIT and the other is DENY. Also, why Rule 3 is ANY protocol and Rule 4 is UDP protocol. Thanks

I think it must've been a mistake because TFTP communicates over UDP not TCP

3-4 must be UDP 69 and permit

I’ve gone over this model in a boot camp today and TFTP is 69 (UPD) permit permit for the two servers from the same source.

I've never even heard of SCP port 22. I automatically think of SSH for that

Yes. It’s Secure Copy protocol, it runs on port 22.

Great video. However, I think you made a mistake on Rule 3 & 4 because TFTP communicates using UDP. But rule 3 you permit ANY but on rule 4 you DENY UDP. I think It should've been PERMIT on both and selecting the UDP protocol. I could be wrong though, just saying

Nice catch, I noticed this error as well, and I did the exact rule at work which was UDP as its used by port 69. After all its great video and the sim is a gui not like what I had with my CCNA and CCNP which were only CLI mode. Great work

@@arrrahawk TFTP is standardized over UDP, but it's also been assigned by IANA for use over TCP too. So the right answer for #4 would be ANY.

Correct, Rules 3 and 4 are wrong, they both should be UDP PERMIT

Rule 3-4 are incorrect. Not sure why port is set to any, maybe because it didnt specify a port? But it should be permit.
