How Radiology Works

Күн бұрын

Computed Radiography (CR) is a truly digital acquisition and it has replaced film as the default standard in modern medical facilities and is not being replaced itself in some cases by DR (Digital Radiography).
In this video we cover the details of how CR works from a workflow perspective as well as the basic physics behind the way that a CR plate stores a latent image and that image is read out.
For more information on the physics of radiography designed for you the radiologic technologist check out our site: howradiologyworks.com .

Thanks for the tip! My new videos are without the background music, learning along the way. Unfortunately KZfaq doesn’t let you modify existing videos.

One question though,most of the times readers/scanners don't pull all the cassette inside,the most of the panel that was exposed is out.How is it reading the image in that case?

Hi , can you make a kvp and mas data sheet on x-ray techniques so that i can learn . This KZfaq channel is so good I wish I was good at English to understand them

Thank you very much for the great lecture. After watching your lecture, one question arose. If optical fibers arranged in series are used to collect blue light generated from IP, does noise occur due to loss of light in the gap between optical fibers?
@HowRadiologyWorks
@HowRadiologyWorks 4 ай бұрын
Yes there is some efficiency loss in the transfer as not all the light is transferred into the optical fibers.

How does the cr reader read the image but not take the whole cassete inside the machine
@HowRadiologyWorks
@HowRadiologyWorks 9 ай бұрын
The reader accepts the entire cassette, mechanically opens it, and removes the PSP plate. So the full cassette doesn't need to enter the reader.

How does the cassette get linked to a certain patient?
@HowRadiologyWorks
@HowRadiologyWorks 9 ай бұрын
On the CR console an exam is setup linking to the patient so when the image is taken it is associated with the patient.

No calculations? So no fourier transform? Ist just straight up voltage blips read as the laser passes by line by line? Wow!

@@HowRadiologyWorks that's what I'm saying there's some computing somehow, probably to stitch together the input voltages recieved from the little squares array

@@ivanp3880 there is actually a lot more computing in ultrasound, and they never threw computed in there for basic 2d imaging like CR did.
