We are gonna take a road trip to one of my favorite local "junk" stores!

So this is no longer in existence? That's a huge shame, even though many of those prices are absurd.
@obsoletegeek8 жыл бұрын
+Lazy Game Reviews They closed, sadly. The prices weren't that great until they were going out of business, but still great for that oddball cable or floppy drive you need ASAP!

+robertsd247 Actually, not true. I know the (former) owner of that store personally. It was owned by two older guys who had been running the store for like 30 years. They just wanted to retire and so they decided to sell off all of the assets. They looked at getting somebody else to run it for them. But even though the store was profitable, it was not profitable enough to have to pay somebody else to run it. The prices on their "vintage" items was indeed unreasonable. But the stuff they sold regularly for modern systems was priced very competitively.

Things I used to own that I purchased there... A Mac SE, Performa 6360, Quadra 650 (with A/UX), Quadra 660AV or 840AV ( I forget), and a Sparcstation IPX. I still have a PowerEdge 6100 (dual Pentium Pro) in storage from there but it was disassembled and I had raided the SIMMs for my SGI Indy.

I would love to visit this shop...there are some very cool items available...the sad thing, though, is that many loose old mobo's found for Macintosh SE's, etc, are usually loose, because they were previously gutted due to being failed boards...great video. PS. I saw a TRS - 80 Model 3 there...I learned basic in grade 9 on one of these amber screened 16kb machines...they would not be too useful, but would be cool to tinker with.

Oh, I loved that place! It was my go to for random cables that I needed. Blank Laser Discs?!? If only the machine needed to run that was not rarer than a unicorn bitten by a werewolf, I would be interested. I loved those cameras that used floppy drives! I am sad that I don't have one anymore. The computer on the bottom shelf mid-screen at 6:07 looks familiar, but I can't place it. I wish I could get back there in time to look for an amiga display adapter. There was a very small place like this in Irving, but it was complete luck of the draw. But, they did repairs there to so you could always ask them about strange things. Sad to hear it is going away, but glad you got a chance to video it. There was a place that I used to go that closed down. Here in Michigan I am learning my locations, but there is nothing like First Saturday or Traders Village up here.
