FINDING YOUR PRODUCT KEY: I am receiving more on more comments regarding issues with the product keys, mostly in regards to Windows not allowing the upgrade to continue because the product key was not entered. This is new, and used to be able to be skipped, but I believe Microsoft may be trying to crack down on pirated copies of windows with potentially fake product keys. Here is a YT video I found regarding a software program called WinKeyFinder175 that locates your product key: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qs14esiQrpezioE.html. NOTE: I am only making the claim that this works if you have a valid product key for windows that you purchased, so I can make no claim that this works for pirated or otherwise illegally downloaded versions of windows. FREEZING AT 46% FIX: I understand that alot of people go through this, and you have to end a certain update process that windows loops on. Here is a fix I found when others were commenting about the same issue, look at the first reply post at the link below: tinyurl.com/y5nc4u34 If you want to try something easier first, I have heard from comments that simply closing the updates window, restarting Windows, and then starting the process again allows you to get past the 46% freeze. This hasn't worked for everyone, though! Link to the location to download the Windows Media Creation Tool: www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 THE SAMSUNG MONITOR SWITCH AT THE END: Here is the reason for the computer screen switch in the video, and I am going to be completely honest: my little laptop with a 26GB SSD would not take the whole update, and kept reverting back to Windows 8, no matter how many times I tried. So, what I did was boot my desktop, on which I previously did the exact same conversion, and recorded the Windows 10 startup logo moments. This screen is what all Windows 10 boot screens look like, even for the initial startup. I wanted everyone to see that visual to know that this is what would be presented to them when they successfully upgraded. I would not have put this video up if I was not able to successfully make it work at least once. With enough free hard drive space, the majority of the comments demonstrate that this had worked for the majority of those who try it.

Pleased to say that my upgrade ran smoothly the whole way through. The old PC I upgraded has a 4 core i5 chip, and 6Gb RAM which may or may not be relevant. We’re lucky enough to have a fast 36Mb/sec broadband connection and the whole process took a painless 2 hours. No programmes or files or photos were lost in the process. I placed my iPad in front of the PC and watched a KZfaq video whilst keeping an eye on the upgrade. I did have to ask it to download my printer driver, which it did flawlessly. Thank you TT for posting the information.

This really does work, trust me I’m a skeptic when it comes to things like this but I was totally surprised when my computer actually got windows 10. Also if your update gets stuck at 46% like mine did, close the window and restart your computer. Then just try again and it should go past the 46%. 10/10

Tutor Terrific, thank you for the tutorial! I had a successful upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Like so many I was stuck at 46% for 45mins to 1 hour. But just be patience. Then I have to leave it overnight for Windows 10 set-up. I 'm not sure how long it took. because it's was late and I went to bed. The next day when I woke up and check my computer, it's already complete with the Windows 10!

This is exactly what I was looking for that no other KZfaqr seems to have thought of. I wanted to see the whole process to know what to expect since I depend on my PC for work and didn't want ANY suprises while upgrading. Thank you for being smart.

December 2020, I have just updated my old Windows 8 (not W8.1) to Windows 10 in my ASUS laptop bought in 2014. All was going smoothly and everything works perfectly now. Microsoft has not requested from me a product key because my Windows was pre-installed in my purchased laptop and its license is being registered. Thanks a lot for your video which was helpful to me. Appreciate it. I updated my Windows up to W10 edition after I had added a new purchased SSD-disk to install into my laptop to enhance working performance. Now, I have two disks inside: HDD for storage (old one) and SSD for operating system (new one). The next step will be to upgrade a RAM memory (6gb currently) up to 16gb. I will need to replace two RAM memory planks (3gb in each slot) with the new RAMs (8gb per each slot) that maximum allowed for my device. Since I have a pretty good CPU Intel Core i5 @ 2.60 GHz along with a video adapter GeForce GT750M, it is a still reasonable device ready to go ahead for some years more.

I have a windows 8.1, try to update to 10 but it keeps failing. How can I fix this?

I’m so confused. My PC meets all the requirements for the update, but every time I try to install this it comes up with a message saying “could not install windows 10”. I always make it all the way through the process but at the very end it just doesn’t work. Any recommendations on what to do? After at least 4 ish hours i have the windows 10 on my 2012 Fujitsu laptop! thank you very much! I find it works a lot quicker if you factory reset you laptop and then sign in again.

Literally have spent the past few days trying to crack windows 10 because I thought I needed to, so that I would be able to use my new capture card. However I didn't need to crack it at all. This is the best video I have seen on how to do this upgrade. I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 on an older laptop (Dell 4200) with no problems. This is the only video where I learned that I already have a product code as Microsoft uses your existing license. EBAY is full of ads for a Windows 10 upgrade product code. I purchased one for another computer and followed the process provided by the vendor. It corrupted my SD drive and I lost all my data. Had to replace the drive. Thank you for putting up this excellent video.

Note: after this, a folder "Windows.old" is created and contain over 150 gig of data, I searched on internet and they said it will be auto deleted after 10 days. so i will check it after Jan 27th 2021 to see if will be auto deleted.

The screen in 9:43, during the download it seemed like it restarted, then a black screen was shown, it's been about 30 minutes, and still a black screen. Could anyone help me please? I did upgrade my pc from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 11 directly without upgrading to Windows 10 Pro. Most people said that a direct upgrade is not possible. But it is possible if you meet the requirements and have the original windows license. And the whole process was smooth without any hiccups.

When I’m at the last part where it says “pc may restart several times” it says restarting pc now but instead it shuts the pc down and when I turn it back on it loading and says “undoing changed made to your computer” Also it always gives me the option to update and it never works because it either shuts down or fails to finish update so I tried this and the pc shuts down instead of restarting (also there isn’t a ‘restart’ option there’s only a ‘restart and update’ option)

whenever my computer goes to the blue screen, it gets to about 60 percent then my computer restarts and I get an error message that say error in the first boot phase and something about an error with migrating data. I've looked up this issue and there are hundreds of solutions that don't work and as a result I believe I will be chilling with windows 8 for the foreseeable future.

Tried this four times for a friend, after having successfully done two other machines, but this this time it failed at 73% - four times. Followed all different bits of advice etc, forums and the like but all failed. Upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1 and made sure that this had all the updates - still failed at 73%. Gave up !

Yo my man Terrific, not gonna lie, the video and the pace you went at was pretty smooth. I just want to ask(oh this is going to be a long ask, so get back to me when you can or anyone else), I am looking to upgrade my PC. Right now I have corei5 etc etc with 2TB HDD and windows 8.1. I will be giving this PC to my mom and gonna build myself a new one. I will be going for something like Zen3 - R5 5600X etc etc 500GB m.2 SSD and 2TB new HDD(or may be the old one, give the new one to my mom along with this pc and just extract the graphics card and hard disk). Now, from the current pc, and from the current 2TB, 900GB is used and give or take 1TB available. When I get my new pc, I would like to get windows 10 on it, specially on the m.2 SSD and keep the HDD for whatever storage I need like almost every technical person does to get the best out of my products. I will be following the video right now to upgrade from windows 8 to 10 and then I will have a hard disk with windows 10. I only have 1 partition. Considering my windows is upgraded to 10 and the all my parts arrive. I would then like to install windows 10 on m.2 SSD. For that, I will have to use that "WinKeyFinder175" that you have mentioned to get my product key. Now, I am not sure if I will be presented with any key, or not confident. That's the first slight doubt, but let's say that I get the windows 10 key. Then in the new computer, I don't put this Hard Disk yet and just put the m.2 SSD, then boot up a USB with windows 10 in it, and continue with the installation and enter the key I have been presented with using that tool(lets hope it works, if not I don't know, may have to buy for like £20 on sale somewhere but anyway) and then the windows is installed on m.2 SSD. Now when I put my 2TB HDD in this new pc, what's going to happen, like up until now, I can think all this through in my head, but I do not know what happens after that. Will that 2TB HDD will only be readable and I can use it as storage and it will still have my 900GB data intact, it also had windows in it before, like this windows that now i have in the m.2 SSD plugged in the same build. Will both Drives clash because they both have windows, but the old windows on the old HDD won't work because I have used the product key to upgrade in the m.2 SSD. Not sure, and extremely hesitant. While upgrading from windows 8 to 10 right now, I will see if I can make a partition, and keep windows in one and the data in the other partition. but the again, that's not the issue here. The issue is, when I plug this HDD in the build, it will have operating system on it, expired OS but still OS. Will it work? will it not work? will I lose the data? these are all the things I am thinking right now because got no one to talk to(kinda sad). The data is not even the games that I could just not care about and download in a new HDD or not even worry about if some of this data is erased or something, no I must keep every bit of this data :). Like when the windows 10 is installed in the m.2 SSD and then I plug this HDD in, will it ask me to format the HDD before I can use it. That would be super bad if it does - because then I would definitely lose the data. In that case, I would have to buy like 3.5 HDD case holder and connect the hdd externally and get a new 2TB HDD in the pc and copy and paste those files over which would take forever. That would be a lengthy process. and right now, I dont even have any external 1TB SSD or HDD which I could back up my data on. I am running on just 1 hard drive. Should I like get 1TB external(SSD or HDD) and at least backup my data over before I do anything? I got so many things happening in this week, all my parts will be coming soon, I feel quite lost. I still got more questions, but not quite sure if someone will get back to me in this short time, I wrote quite a bit(apologies) but I do honestly hope that I made sense and explained clearly what sort of thing I am thinking about and not quite sure of. For some people who have done this, it would be super easy to clear my doubts and simply tell me some steps to follow. Any help would be nice guys ^^ :) Much appreciated.
