Imagine how different today's business landscape would be if those who spoke negatively about the World Wide Web in the 90s, claiming it would consume all of Earth's energy, had prevailed. Similarly, skeptics once dismissed email, insisting it would never gain widespread use. Now, with Bitcoin, we see another revolutionary technology challenging conventional wisdom, echoing the historical pattern of skepticism preceding adoption and innovation.

You've said the IP address has to be unique on a network, but doesn't have to be unique worldwide. Then how does it have to be unique on the Internet if the Internet is worldwide?
@ComputerScienceTutor
@ComputerScienceTutor 6 жыл бұрын
I can't fully explain without going into detail you don't need to know but basically, though the Internet acts as if it is a single network, in practice it's just many networks arranged in a clever way

ok thanks, the MAC is not used in this situation, because if the device is connected using a wireless connection, the Switch would not be used, and the router would be used to forward data to the device. And the router uses IP addresses.

Is this video in the AQA spec?

Great question! I spent a lot of time thinking about this because it isn't specifically mentioned, but it seemed weird to me that it wouldn't be (it was in the old course, and all the others). Aspects of this feed into other Paper 2 topics (IP addresses and packets in particular), so it seemed better to include it to be safe

Is the playlist which is labelled paper 1 edexcel all the videos I need to watch for both papers? I am confused.
@ComputerScienceTutor
@ComputerScienceTutor 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, Edexcel are a bit different to the other exam boards. Paper 1 is theory based on all the topics (which is why the playlist is so long), whereas Paper 2 is more practical based. Technically Paper 2 could examine all the same topics as Paper 1, but in reality it'll be mostly the algorithm/programming topics again with possibly a glancing reference to any others
