Its yerba mate, its drinked in large parts of south america and that is how you consume it. The taste is quite bitter. Actually it is, by many, used as a subsitute for coffee cause it makes you more awake, and soccer player Louis Suarez once got in trouble for drinking it because it was actually registered at a drug testing. I believe he wasnt allowed to play at least one game for his national team.

I used to go to that restaurant for lunch everyday and that lady is the nicest and always smiling when shes working and I don’t even have to order anymore when I go in. Fun fact- she also speaks three languages.

I used to deliver for WokNRoll when I was 18. The number of times I was asked “who the f-k are you!?” And had to wave the bag of food around was wild. At least 3 times a day I had to convince people to take their food from me.

I was at a taping when Conan was still on Late Night with Conan… he would come out and engage with the crowd and the guy who hypes up the crowd before the show. Very down to earth and funny guy. Was always my favorite among all the late night talk show hosts.

I don't think so. Just imagine that you had a bad day for whatever reason. And then you see a guy who clearly is a comedian (not everyone knows Conan) with a camera. It's easy to assume he's a KZfaq prankster or something like that. So it's normal if she doesn't want to deal with you, specially if she's camera shy. It's addictive, watching Conan and his remote bits. He reminds me of a more manic Letterman when Dave used to do stuff like this--- going to the Taco Bell drive thru with Zsa Zsa Gabor, working a shift at McDonalds, etc. And watching this clip, I can vicariously dash around Manhattan one afternoon like a madman. Love it.

The last time I went to King Wok that happy lady wasn't there... I used to go there 4 days a week from 2006-2010. The lady remembered my order by heart and threw in extra fortune cookies every now and then :(

Never thought I would find a clip of Conan drinking mate omg. For anyone wondering, mate is basically the Argentinian tea. You pour hot water in a cup called "mate", filled with chopped/dried leaves of the yerba mate plant, then you drink it using a metal straw. Next, pour water again and then pass it to a friend. It has coffee-like properties (antioxidants and caffeine-ish effects) and it's a very important part of the argentine culture, because you often drink it with friends/family, that's why she offered it to Conan.

Really cool stuff, in the video you saw the comments "conan brought me here" and she answered that the part where he talks to her was completely out of the blue just a natural thing, which is cool as hell. I can’t speak in the old late night hosts like Carson. But in my era. Conan is the goat. Not only is he hilarious. So damn funny. But when the nbc thing happened. He brought his whole crew with him to the next network, so they didn’t lose jobs and friendships. When the writers strike happened. He paid his writers out of his own pocket.
